This looks like a rental at most. So cliched. I like Reynolds and Gyllenhal, but not enuf to pay to see it at theater...

I'm still seeing this in the theater. I just love seeing space movies in a huge theater. Plus there are several theater chains here I can see it for $5 or less on a standard projection.

Looks more like Brian De Palma's MISSION TO MARS meets John Carpenter's THE THING.

I believe I've got time to catch a matinee tomorrow. This looks worthy of a theater viewing for me.

I've watched some online reviewers I usually follow and they have all liked it to one degree or another. I'm gonna try to catch a morning showing tomorrow.

I saw this tonight and liked it. I'd give it a solid B or B+. It's admittedly not very memorable or original in the way of characters or story, but it was a tense thriller that was never boring. As the ending was unfolding, what I was hoping would happen did
, so I liked that quite a bit.
Again, it's nothing special or original, but it's solid in every aspect and I'd recommend checking it out.

Caught this at 9:45 this morning. There were more people in the theater than I expected.
I liked it also. The creature is totally CGI but it's well-done. While not as intense as Alien, there is a good amount of it. There are some plot holes but it's an outer space creature feature so I'll overlook them. Acting was pretty good. Sound design was great. While some scenes were the same as the trailer, they used different shots in the movie: when Ryan Reynolds says "Cue Instagram" you don't actually see him say it in the movie.

Regardless of how well this does, I really hope someone puts Reynolds and Gyllenhaal together in a buddy movie. These guys are having a blast together on the press tour.

I thought it was fantastic. A little slow at first, but once the intensity kicked in, it didn't stop.
And as I suggested last night, I believe it's worth checking out in the theater.

How far in the future is this set? Instagram will be as quaint a memory as the Pony Express, rotary phones, and Look Magazine by the time we get to Mars.

Saw this film last night. Thought it was alright. The things I enjoyed most about the film were the opening tracking shot (and overall cinematography) as well as how the characters moved throughout the space station.

Caught this yesterday. Good, but not great. While I admired it for taking the route they did with the ending, this is still more or less another re-telling or the first Alien story. Also, the creature looked to me like a transluscent version of the flying MUTO from 2014's Godzilla.

Caught a matinee just now and despite the very generic title, I thought this was really good. Very dark and quite suspenseful IMO.
I loved the twist ending. Very dark. (Don't read this spoiler if you haven't seen it. It will ruin the entire movie)
I liked the pacing and the organism/creature was actually quite intimidating. I jumped at a few scenes. For some this may come across as an Alien-light, but I was quite entertained.
Someone called it earlier in this thread, but Ryan Reynolds role is:

This really bombed. $13M opening with two B+ list stars is no good. Guess everyone is waiting for Alien: Covenant.

^^ Well, I like it better when it was called 'Alien'. I thought this movie was predictable and poorly planned. These are brilliant astronauts / scientists and they couldn't figure out how to escape this thing?
The ending was the best part... although I don't foresee any type of sequel.

I watched this today and it was pretty fucking good. Yeah, the marketing for it was horrible, but wow
Rent it at least if you can't decide to buy it.

Yeah, this was a decent flick. I'll catch it again on disc to pick up anything I missed the first time around. Not very memorable but a fun ride. I'm mostly interested in the special features.

Bump. Saw this over the weekend and liked it quite a bit.
I liked the alien design better when it was still in its "infancy" where it was just a 4-pointed jellyfish looking thing. Because it looked more..."alien". In the end it looked like a transparent flying iquana.

This was straight out of 80's alien fests like Leviathan or the one with Treat Williams. I didn't like the creature effects at all. When Calvin gets a face he just got too stupid looking. The Ryan Reynolds kill scene was cool. But, this should have been done with much lesser stars. It's not an original movie or even really good, but it's a little fun in a silly sort of way. I guess the twist was ok if not predictable.

I hated just about every minute of this thing, mainly the writing. Lots of really dumb decisions made by supposedly smart people.

I just saw this and was blown away. I had little hope for this flick and it surprised me. Great monster. Fantastic ending. It's like if H.P. Lovecraft wrote Alien.
And though I loved the flick, I don't want a sequel. They'd only ruin it.

I liked this better than I thought I would. But I really hate when characters do stupid things just so the movie can continue.
