that they shot that tracking shot for the trailer as a fake out. As I noted previously, Depp's character is the one who is murdered in the book and in the original movie. If they were going to fake internet folks out, that's the way to do it.
The more-likely possibility is that they use Depp a lot more in flashback scenes. He could still end up with the second-most scenes just by incorporating him in everyone's flashback testimony.

looks a little hokey, no? the way they introduced the characters. is that in movie or just teaser? and Josh Gad and Michelle Pfeiffer seem miscast, but i guess we'll see. i like Branagh and he's a good director. better than actor imo...

Trailer looked good to me, I dig the style of it. Never saw the previous movie or read the book other then being familiar with the title, so this is all new to me.

Yeah, I liked it a lot.

But if you're going in fresh, I'd probably watch this version first as it's more fun to try and figure out whodunnit when you see it on the big screen.

I read a lot of Agatha Christie books when I was a kid. I'm terrible at guessing who the murderer is but for Murder on the Orient Express, even I got it right as it was so painfully obvious. Still a fun read though, and the original movie was really good too, with an all-star cast.

Yes it can. And please do. Saw it today, "meh". Great cast, but the movie is so lifeless and underwhelming. The performances overall felt serviceable save for Pfeiffer. She was the only stand out here IMO. Overall I'd give it a 5/10 rating.

I'd give it a mild recommendation. No surprises, if you're familiar with the plot. Looked great and a nice cast. Hell, that moustache even had a great performance. The end of the movie does hint at the next movie...if they continue with Christie remakes.

I'm really bummed I didn't enjoy this more than I did. Was really looking forward to it. I wish Branagh had filmed this more old school. There was so much CGI, I felt like I was watching "The Polar Express".
