I was shocked by the running time, also; I was expecting three hours from the trailer. This is really more of a Fall movie. I try to do one theatrical movie a week, and I'll have to catch this one in August, if it's still around at a viable theater near me.

Every trailer I've seen for this makes it look kinda boring - doesn't help that I know the story and what happens.

We saw the 8 minute preview in IMAX before R1. It was a single battle scene and it looked incredible. The theater applauded after it. I'm pumped for this movie.

Not 15/70, but hey, I can't have everything in life.

It would've been a good chance to go back to an R, considering the subject matter.

Surprised there's no Call of Duty: Operation Dynamo title.

I've heard a few things on it being a near silent movie, which is weird for Nolan this side of Following - he generally can't get his characters to stop explaining the plot.

Closest 70mm theater is way over in Kansas in the theater that showed The Hateful Eight in 70mm. Trying to decide if it would be worth the travel.

I went to the Hateful Eight at Town Center 20, it was a cool experience seeing it in 70mm, but I think AMC used it as an excuse to raise ticket prices for an event screening. Alamo Mainstreet will have it in 35mm. I might go there to see it.

I might have to opt for Drafthouse too. I would like to check it out in 70mm but AMC Town Center is a tad further than I'd like to go. Since I live north of the river, I stick the Plaza and theaters northwards.

Probably gonna go overboard and drive to Bransons laser imax and stay the night down there

It will be incredible with it filling up the whole screen for the entire movie, their screen is 70mm aspect ratio too

I did that for Interstellar. The screen is indeed massive, but the theater was pretty run-down at that time (broken theater chairs, etc).

I'm just going to see Dunkirk in 70mm at Ronnie's. Already got my tickets.

Ya its all updated now though with laser projector, new sound and recliners at the top of the theater

Also i don't understand how ronnies will show it in 70mm, doesn't the screen have to be really tall? Don't know if i trust the sound system there either

My friend asked about catching this at the IMAX in Irvine which should be 70mm since both our wives aren't in to these sort of movies Looking forward to it, but still eagerly anticipating more official reviews.

Ronnie's projected film IMAX for years, which is 65mm. I think they transitioned to digital IMAX projection a few years ago, but they still project film for special engagements. Their IMAX screen isn't as big as a "true IMAX" screen like in Branson, but it's big enough apparently. I've always found the sound in their IMAX theater to be solid. YMMV.

Don't think the 70mm showings are on the imax screen though because on their website they have showings for the imax and 70mm with the showings about 5 minutes apart

I haven't been to Ronnie's in awhile, but apparently they now have a "Superscreen DLX" auditorium (in addition to their IMAX auditorium) which features an "oversized screen" and Dolby Atmos. I wouldn't be surprised if the 70mm showings are in that auditorium, but I really don't know.

Re: Dunkirk (7/21/2017, Nolan) - News, Rumors, Etc.

Saw on local news the studio has a huge 18-wheeler parked outside the National WW1 Museum here. It holds 70 people and they're showing a 5-minute prologue of the movie. Seats are equipped with subwoofers. Thinking of checking it out but have a feeling it'll just be an extended trailer. But it's free.
