Most modern horror and any movie that has kids threatened unnecessarily.

Not exactly a single genre but most foreign films don't appeal to me. I know there are probably great ones but generally I don't find myself wanting to watch them.
Also most anime. Just never really was big on the style. I like some Studio Ghibli stuff but that's about all.

Westerns
Anime
Most kids movies
"Extreme" art house movies. Now, I love movies like Before Midnight, but I can't deal with stuff like Dogville where the sets are chalk drawings.

You are correct. It would not be right to lump something like The Apartment with one of those Matthew McConaughey / Kate Hudson films.

Modern rom-coms (last 25 years).
Modern horror (last 35 years).
Pixar and other 3-D CGI animation (TOY STORY on).
French movies in general of the last 40 years (unless Luc Besson is involved).
Most English period dramas (last 35 years).

Any sort of football movie. especially the ones that try to be inspirational. You know when the team is a piece of shit and they bring in Coach Flappy McGums and he turns the whole team into best friends and they go onto to win some sort of championshit.

I thought for sure I'd be the lone wolf on mob flicks. Godfather, Goodfellas, Scarface... snoozers. I can appreciate the craftsmanship of them, the subject matter just does nothing for me. No matter how much praise Sopranos got I couldn't muster up enough energy to even give it a chance.

Wes Anderson/Cohen Brothers type films - I would literally prefer to watch paint dry.
Spoof movies - once upon a time these were funny (i.e. Airplane/Naked Gun). Now they have just proven that 'stupid people' is a very real demographic.
Any movie where the trailer features somebody doing that CGI 'fast fall forward' in front of an explosion while waving their arms. That has saved me so much money.

The Sopranos is a different animal than the mob movies you mentioned, though I guess you still might not enjoy it given the subject matter.

Gory horror/ Torture porn - hate that shit.
Stoner comedies - I personally don't do pot and maybe that's why I don't find it hilarious to watch folks who do act stupid. Waste of my time. Sorry Seth Rogan.

I can't state I hate all Westerns (I really like 1959's 'The Hanging Tree') but I definitely have to be in the right mood to watch one ('Unforgiven' I found to be highly overrated).
Rom Coms (...starring Katherine Heigl)

All superhero and comic book movies. Tired of our cinemas being flooded by that stupid bullshit over and over again.
I can understand why 12 year old boys would enjoy that stuff, and I probably would too if I was 12.
No idea why adults keep flocking to watch it though.

Sorcery - Just have never been into the fantasty magic genres. Barely made it through LOTR and was probably due to most of the characters were using normal skills to get through it.
So I know Marvel is making Doctor Strange. The guy who just uses magic. Blah. Probably the first marvel movie I skip. No interest whatsoever in him.

Thai movies
Mobster movies
Politically leaning "documentaries"
Comedies that are people getting into situations where by no fault of themselves they look like assholes, over and over again.

A lot of disdain for anime here.
I'm guessing you guys simply have no appreciation for beautiful artwork or you've just never seen the right anime.

I will generally avoid Rom-Coms like the plague. Unless it's a Rom-Zom-Com.
There is half an appeal on the animation side of things. I love animation, but I usually skip more than half the animated movies. Total turds!

Re: Genres that don't appeal to you, no matter how popular/well reviewed the movie is
There isn't much that I will specifically avoid. If something gets good enough reviews, I'll most likely be willing to give it a chance. Some just take a lot more convincing than others. Some examples:
horror: Just not my thing. There are of course exceptions (Halloween, Psycho, David Lynch, zombie films), but usually a horror film needs years of cultural perspective and appraisals/reappraisals before I'm willing to jump in. That said, despite its place in film history, I still have never seen Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The more extreme, torture-type stuff is the closest I probably get to an automatic "no." Psychological horror is much easier for me to get into.
mafia: I watch a lot of crime films, and I happen to love the Godfather, but in general I don't really click with the whole Italian American mafia thing. I saw Goodfellas once years ago and I can appreciate it, but it's not something that I get into. I've seen a few episodes of the Sporanos and it's kind of the same deal. Part of it might be a cultural thing. Some people get a real kick out of the whole Italian American gangster schtick. Not me.
anime: I like comic books. I like sc-fi. I like 2d animation. I like the idea of anime. In college I even used to go to weekly screenings hosted by the anime club. Just about everything I've ever seen, I've enjoyed up to a point. But those darn Japanese always seem to take things one step further than I'm willing to go. I've expressed this before on this forum, but I've never really embraced Japanese cultural sensibilities. I've tried, and I can appreciate some of it from a distance, but in general it's not something I seek out.
holocaust movies (more of a subject matter than a genre): The holocaust was one of the most awful events ever orchestrated by mankind. I get it, but I have no desire to really dwell on it. Part of the problem for me is that it's almost impossible to approach the subject from any angle other than "the holocaust was awful." I'm not saying I want to see a pro-holocaust movie, it's just that at this point what else can be said about the subject? I also find it difficult to properly criticize a movie about the holocaust because many people seem to be unable to separate the subject matter with the quality of the filmmaking. Say something negative about Schindler's List and you might as well be branded a Nazi in some circles.
