There still seems to be a fair number of people who don't know about her even after her True Detective scene aired. That's why we saw some people thinking her Baywatch role would go to Dobrev or Benson. She may have a solid career ahead of her, but as of now, even with a solid blockbuster hit in San Andreas under her belt, she's still relatively unknown to the general public unlike Kate Upton. Point being, people want Daddario for Baywatch, they just don't know it yet. Meanwhile, they know they want someone like Upton for Baywatch as well.

Dobrev is still fairly unknown imo, so I'm surprised she would overtake, but I assume it depends on what you watch since both are more famous for TV roles.

Dobrev has the massive tween following due to the Vampire Diaries. Likewise Benson for Pretty Little Liars.

Daddario had Percy Jackson but neither she nor costars in those movies got the kind of tween attention Logan Lerman somehow got.

It's "the scene" in True Detective that seems to have gotten her lots of attention.

Percy Jackson was her big break. Doing a jaw-dropping nude scene on a prestigious HBO show has taken her a little further.

I'm not saying Percy didn't boost her profile. I'm saying it didn't garner her or her costars the kind of attention and fanbase it seemed to for Logan Lerman. These things cater to tween girls, who spend most of the time obsessing over the supposedly hot male lead.

Frankly, I don't understand why he's worth the obsession. He's come off as rather blasé. And he gives this good performance in Fury and then everyone treats him as a godsend of young talent who should be in everything.

Pam's figure also has surgical alterations. Hard to find someone with that exact figure when most of today's young women don't seem to go under the knife for cosmetic enhancements.

I wasn't talk about just her boobs, Pam was curvy on Baywatch, and that girl doesn't look like that at all.

I'm not as picky about the choice matching the specific measurements of Pam Anderson, although I was expecting a bit more substantial bust. Frankly, it's a question of reputation and familiarity I have the most issue with. I mean, it'll have enough success with people like Rock, Efron and to some extent Daddario, but someone like Upton would have added more success than who they've chosen.

The Kelly Rohrbach casting seems designed to make Alexandra Daddario really standout in the movie (Looks and acting).

I do kinda think Daddario has better looks than Upton. And of course better acting. Upton is just more well known and popular to the public.

I think this casting is more designed to maintain the perception that Daddario is the actual female lead which is what she was announced to be. If they cast Upton, everyone would pay more attention to her than Daddario. When Upton was cast in the Disaster Artist, people paid more attention to her involvement than Ari Graynor, who is playing the actual female lead in that movie.

Heh, I still remember when Daddario as Kate on "White Collar" and thought she had the curves for WW back then, but I guess she wasn't tall enough.

5-7 years ago, Adrienne Palicki might have been an okay choice for CJ, but she's also more tall and lanky, than curvy.

Not sure about her acting chops with humans, but Hannah Davis had great repoire with her horse, and lighten up her hair, she'd bring enough curves for the role of CJ.

Bella Thorne's curves kicked in this past year, I'd consider her for any sequel-initiated casting needs.

It's a shame Alice Eve is probably also 5-7 years too old nowadays.

How about Blake Lively from 5 years ago?

I'd have taken Brooklyn Decker from five years ago.

She was just starting the path to become Kate Upton before Kate Upton became Kate Upton. Then she ended up with a role on a cancelled sitcom and a role on a Netflix sitcom and ultimately became baby mama to Andy Roddick.

Julianna Guill as C.J. would've been nice.
