Why would anyone seriously goto the movies to see this crap? This is a movie you watch on HBO late at night when there is nothing else on just to see girls in Bikini's. The reason I am calling people out for seeing this is that you are the problem with the state of crummy summer movies. If people stop seeing this shit, then they will be forced to put out something better then rehashes like Baywatch and Chips, along with the dopey comic book movies.
There was a time in the 90's when they actually put out Academy Award nominated movies in the summer like Apollo 13, Braveheart, Saving Private Ryan, but now it's shit like this and it's amazing that anyone would pay money for it.

I usually don't trust reviews when it comes to comedies because comedy is really subjective, but it was really bad. ^^^I hope you like it, but will probably be disappointed.

I love the Rock and the last few movies Efron have done, I find decent (haven't seen Neighbors 2 yet). However, this is just a complete miss. A few funny jokes (though they beat a few to death including calling Efron every tween booper name or group in the book). But this movie just continued to drag on and on. Easily could have been a lot better.

This is bad. Like really, really bad. It's almost unfathomable how bad it is. It's not really funny. I guess it tries to be funny through dialogue but none of it works. The action set pieces aren't any good and most feel like they were green screened. I really don't know what the hell this was supposed to be.
The Rock isn't any good but he does get me to chuckle occasionally, especially when we see him have to take a 9-5 job for awhile. Zach Efron has a hell of a body but his character is all over the place, especially towards the end where he almost becomes Homer Simpson level stupid. Dedario isn't that great. I wish they got rid of the average guy who was supposed to be comic relief but sucks at it. And the girl who they picked to play Pamerla Anderson's part is just bland looking. Pam was sex in the early 90's. Kelly Rohrbach is pretty but she looks like a dime a dozen actress.
This movie is also just plodding and feels like it goes on forever. I almost walked out twice but I wanted to see what type of cameos David and Pam had(and they are in here) so I stuck around but two people did get up and leave my showing.
Overall this is the third comedy I saw in theatres in which not a single person laughed(Ghosbusters 2016 and Meet the Jones being the other two) and it's just awful. I like The Rock and usually like Seth Gordon but this is a turd. 1/5 for some entertainment from The Rock and Efron

They played the Kingsman trailer before the movie at my showing, so all I could think about the whole time is that Kelly Rohrback looks like Pedro Pascal in a blonde wig. And that's really not meant to be an insult because she is still hot.
I didn't find the movie to be as bad as others are making it out to be, but it could have been better.

Saw it and enjoyed it. Plenty of laughs in the theater.

Saw it last night. When traveling my threshold for what I'll pay to see goes way down. I enjoyed it. Not great but had s few laughs and plenty of sexy. That being said I like all the personalities involved which helps a lot in this case. If you dislike anyone in this movie, this film won't suddenly change your mind.

Didn't like this one much - I thought the first half hour or so was decent - when it was basically a comedy about lifeguards. I like the cast and it started off with some OK jokes and didn't feel too tired...but quickly as the drug storyline became the main focus, all the laughs drained out of the movie and any sort of 'jokes' they were attempting failed to land. Add to that some horrible 'investigating' scenes, melodramatic character moments and a completely by the numbers plot with not a single inspired action scene and you've got a huge disappointment. Bottom line - good cast, wasted cameos, bad script and hack for hire direction make this one easily skippable. 2/5

Saw this earlier today. Didn't think it was awful but I also didn't think it was very memorable either.
Like others, I enjoyed the casting of the Baywatch Team, as they were my favorite part of the film. There were a few good laughs but not enough to carry me through that Dial-A-Drug-Plot.

It was ok. I didn't go in expecting an Oscar contender, so I got what I expected. I enjoyed The Rock's nicknames for Efron the most. Overall, a fun, decent movie which won't set the world on fire, but about what was expected.

They were successful in casting some ridiculously hot women with wonderful cleavage in this. This could have been like Jump Street but they decided to make it with the pacing of a standard tv show.

Why?
I did see this in theaters back in June, but I only paid $7. I enjoyed it, but not enough to pay a premium like that. I get your very lazy and don't see any movies in theaters, but $20 for probably a 1-time only view? You probably could have seen this in a super saver for like $5 or less if you wanted to.

I did see this in the theater back in June while I was on vacation in Thailand. I only paid $7 to see it.
I enjoyed it even though it got trashed by most reviews.
I wouldn't pay $20 to own this. I like Johnson and most of his movies and his charm along with some of the slapstick humor made this fun.
The cameos of David Hasselhoff and Pam Anderson were pointless & stupid. The Hoff was playing the original Mitch even though Johnson was playing Mitch and Pam was playing original CJ. WTF? Plus, it was a non-speaking part.
I am curious about the extended cut that's going to be on the BD. Like Central Intelligence, I'm probably going to wait until it's on sale during the Holiday for like $10 or less.

why do you keep questioning people's purchases at certain prices? why do you care? there are all types of reasons why people buy what they buy at whatever price they deem fit. i don't understand why you question this, my purchases, etc...

If Richc2 is super busy with work and has zero time to see movies in the theaters, then fine he can do what he wants. But he could have waited 2 more weeks to rent Baywatch for $5 or less than pay a hefty premium to permanently own this with no extras or anything else.
I don't care, I was just curious. It's a public forum, people can ask random shit sometimes can they not? There's no need to lose your mind about it. People talk shit to me sometimes in other threads, but I try to not take it personally anymore because it's a public forum and people can say/ask whatever the hell they want.
I won't address you anymore on these type of matters. Case closed okay?
I liked Baywatch as I said, but I probably won't want to own this until much later.

It's $14.99, but no I didn't buy it. I have a few friends who worked on the movie up in Savannah and got their names in the credits and what not. so we got together and watched it.

Yeah if his friends would have just waited...we really need to get to the bottom of this. Not that I care. I'm just curious.
Fine. Nevermind. I'm not going to lose my mind over this. Case closed!
