I don't think I've seen him in a film, but just because he's an Eastwood, that adds a 'cool' factor for me... I would be allright with it. But please, even before Teller...I do not want a Franco anywhere near this.
Also hope the Rogue One cameo isn't true...sounds terrible.

none of the prequel and side movie concepts seem interesting to me. A movie 700 years before ANH? Count me in. A movie from the Sith point of view? Count me in.
Continuing adventures of Han Solo...yawn
Capturing the death star plans...yawn
Bobba Fett? Seriously? GAG
EXPAND the universe dont flog the past

To those badmouthing Rogue One, how could you not be at least a little interested at the prospect of seeing new Darth Vader footage with Jones voicing? Seriously?

Sources tell Variety that after seeing thousands of actors, execs have cut the list down to about a dozen actors with Miles Teller, Ansel Elgort, Dave Franco, Jack Reynor, Scott Eastwood, Logan Lerman, “Brooklyn” star Emory Cohen and “Everybody Wants Some” actor Blake Jenner among the names making the cut.
I can't place a single one of them, other than Dave Franco might be James' brother, Scott Eastwood might be related to Clint, and Blake Jenner might be a Cardassian (wrong franchise?).

That said, I'll watch all the SW films and reserve my bitching for the proper time.

I think Taron Egerton would be pretty awesome but he's pretty short. Scott Eastwood is the most masculine and hunky of the bunch, but his acting ability is average at best. All of the others are so far off the mark it isn't funny. Miles Teller? WTF? Just go with an unknown. The pressure of this role will be immense.

I think Taron could have easily performed, but I think he has scheduling conflicts. Dylan O'Brien as well.
Right from jump, I wouldn't want Dave Franco or Logan Lerman, as Franco comes off as too squirmy to take serious as a smuggling scoundrel and Lerman lacks the necessary swagger and seems more wet behind the ears.
Miles Teller would be next. He has played parts that skew that way, but has come off as too smug and unlikeable.
I haven't caught Brooklyn yet so I can't speak for Emory Cohen.
Jack Reynor I think demonstrated some level of swagger in TF4 that could be shown in a more favorable light with Lord/Miller at the helm.
Scott Eastwood seems like he's got the charm for the part, though I admit I haven't seen much of his work.
I put Ansel Elgort and Blake Jenner in a similar boat as both have films coming up that would demonstrate their appeal as Han Solo, Elgort with Edgar Wright's Baby Driver (which Lerman lost out on) and Jenner with Everybody Wants Some.

Why not DiCaprio, Christian Bale, Jake Gyllenhaal, Ryan Gosling, or Ethan Hawke as Han Solo?
They are not that old and they all can act.
I am not impressed with the short list that has been revealed so far.

Maybe because it features a young Han Solo and I'm pretty sure every guy you just named is currently older than Ford was in ANH.

There's also a problem with putting an established actor in the role of Han Solo in that you're already going to be thinking "That's not Harrison Ford," but you'll also be thinking "That's fucking Ethan Hawke."
