Groundhog Day, though funny, is a very melancholy film with a sad and dark edge.

Yeah. It's one of those comedies that will make me chuckle randomly long after watching it just thinking about dumb little lines that I probably didn't even laugh at in the moment.

"You learned to dance like that sarcastically?"
"Yeah I guess"

Very dark and depressing edge, but overall a satisfying ending.

Sorry, RoboDad, I've been a little slow on this board lately.
But at least D2cheer came through with a funny line.

If you're going to fit in to white America, you're gonna have to learn to like mayonnaise.

Re: Your go to comedy?

If I am in the mood for a comedy, I have several comfort food comedies I can turn too, such as Spies Like Us and Back To School. It also helps that even my mother loves these comedies, which is a bit of a surprise given her typical movie taste (family films, for the most part, but she also appreciates the Marvel produced comic book films). Any comedy I can sit down and watch with my mother in the room gets a big thumbs up in my book.

Also, does anyone mind if I create a "Your go to Action Film" thread? In my humble opinion Die Hard is not just a phenomenal action film, but it is also my all-time favorite film, however, it is NOT my top go to action movie (that film will be revealed when I create the thread, it is also not #2 on the list).

Anyway, sorry for the brief thread drift.

Coming to America
Animal House
Planes, Trains, & Automobiles
Ferris Bueller's Day Off
The Naked Gun
Shaun of the Dead

That's probably listing too many, but I never get tired of those movies.

I cannot see "soup du jour" on a menu without thinking "Mmm...that sounds good. I'll have that."

Enchanted
Singin' in the Rain
Notting Hill
Music and Lyrics
Young Frankenstein
Swing Time

Thread title would be a lot easier to understand with a hyphen.
