I'm just hoping this gets fairly widely distributed theatrically in the U.S. - it's been since Godzilla 2000 that we've seen a Toho Godzilla movie get theatrical distribution here.

Did Hedorah (aka The Smog Monster) crawl up his ass? G looks awful imho. I'm rather worried about this new interpretation by Toho now. It seems they're mostly intent on trying to beat the Gareth Edward's Godzilla than trying to make a good Godzilla movie on their own.

I like how he looks more ravage than before. More imperfect.

Let's also not forget: he'll be brought to life via a combo of man-in-suit and CGI, so these pics aren't representative of the actual film look. I have a feeling this design will look killer in action.

Some confirmation from a Toho insider... Godzilla will have THREE looks in the film. He starts off looking like a mutilated zombie, then heals up to a second form before eventually being fully regenerated and looking more like the G we all know and love.

I think that's a killer idea and I'm excited to see it unfold on screen.

Visually this looks so different from what we've gotten from Toho in forever. It actually looks an actual movie worth a damn just by the framing of it. Doesn't look cheap.

I'm aware of this. The overall look still sucks. Either way, the G in the trailer seemed "Almost Done" so I think it gives a pretty good idea of the final look.

I've heard rumors that whole "3 forms" thing may not be true at all.

I don't get the complaints about the design. He's supposed to look like a nightmare; a nuclear survivor that's twisted and broken and in constant pain, bringing death and destruction with him.

Every past Godzilla has looked like Godzilla, regardless of how much the design has morphed. This G looks so fucking terrifying. I think it's inspired and I can't wait to see him in action.
