This is available as a rental starting today on the usual streaming sites (vudu, amazon, iTunes) and probably VOD as well.

Might give this a rental tonight then. I know it won't come to my local theater unless it gets a wide release later. Even then its hit and miss what we get here.

I get a "slow simmer" vibe from trailer. Nothing in the way of violence happens until the last 10 minutes, then 10 minutes of carnage.

No problem, they seem to be kind of hiding it which is really bizarre. You'd figure "New in theaters, Schwarzenegger Zombie flick" would get some sort of boost.

I just finished watching this and it was fantastic. It's too early to say if this one is going on my Top-10 of the year but I can honestly say that the Blu-ray will be mine and I will also say that it's one of the best films of the year so far. Arnold and Abigail are great. Yes, Arnold can act!
The film IS is a slow burn pretty much all the way through but that bring out the depth of the characters and their situations. It's also not a bad looking film for 5 million dollars. Every cent is on that screen - the visual effects and special effects make-ups look great, too.
Very highly recommended!

Just finished watching this too and I pretty much have to echo everything that Why So Blu? said. Great Damn film. A slow burner but with a fairly simple story but the performances just sold it so damn well. I have to say this is probably Arnold's best role or at least one of them. He definitely gave a great performance I'd like to see him do more stuff where he shows off his acting skills as I really enjoyed him in this. Abigail Breslin was great too. She definitely sold the performance and made you really feel for her with what she was going through. I'm not one for zombie films really as I think the genre is way played out these days, but this was very non-typical and very much more of a dramatic film that just uses zombie elements. I'll definitely be picking up the Blu-ray once it's out.

Reviews from film critics are really all over the place for this. Glad some folks on here like it. I'll check it out. Looks good.

I have some cash Amazon gave for Instant Video. Unfortunatelly... It's a dollar less than what it costs. A goddamn dollar. *sigh* The shit I have to pay for. A dollar for this seems worth it cuz I hate buying shit on IV.

My guess is that because it's a film starring Schwarzenegger and deals with zombies people expect it to be more action packed and have more zombie kills. It is a slow burner that doesn't focus as much on the zombie aspect but more uses it to convey the transformation of someone in that kind of situation and coming to terms with the inevitable. It's an awesome character driven film. Also let's be honest for whatever reason its cool to hate on Schwarzenegger these days. He steps out of his comfort zone into a role that requires more than is typically expected of him and he still gets shit. I admittedly am a fanboy for the guy but he doesn't get a lot of respect no matter what he does in my opinion.

And apparently Arnold is a good drama actor. So that's worth watching alone.
EDIT: Wow. There was a fuck up on my order. Chatted w/ a Rep online. I had a balance to use up but it wouldn't go in. So instead the Rep deleted my balance, refunded me the payment, AND let me keep the movie. Fuck. I hate how good their customer service is sometimes. It spoils me.

Just watched it. Pretty solid.
Arnold was a pretty good dramatic actor for this. I'm interested to see what else he chooses, for more serious roles. I'm glad he went for this. I really dug this film. I don't think I've seen a Zombie flick like this. Was nice to see something go this way. Had a soul to it. Strong emotions in the characters but never push to melodrama.
I'm glad it was made. Really nice slow burn. Creates a lived world where it isn't really wild. Mostly representing normal human reactions of fear, loss, etc.
Must watch just to see Arnold flex his acting muscles.

Meh, I disliked it.
Had potential but felt it just didn't go the distance.

Saw this today... it was decent but I wouldn't call it great and never felt like it did anything particularly new or fresh. As nice as it was seeing Maggie's slow turn, all the reactions to her and situations she's in just felt really by the book and expected all the way up until to end. Still, Breslin is very good in this and i've enjoyed her work for awhile now. Arnold is fine and plays his role well, but I don't think he was given much to do and this didn't stretch his dramatic chops as much as I thought it might based off the trailer.

Eh...this was OK. It moved at a glacially slow pace. The 90 minutes felt like 2 1/2 hours. I thought the ending was very anticlimatic as well. Not a terrible movie by any means, but I think it could have been alot more interesting and exciting.
