First one must've done decent business on DVD/Blu-ray/On Demand because it only made $62M Worldwide on a $40M budget.

The first one is fun for what it is and I like Statham so I'll probably see this.

I never saw the first one but the plot synopsis for this one sounds like the plot to a Hitman movie. Maybe this could be Statham's unofficial Hitman.

I enjoyed the first one and like Statham quite a bit so I'll see this.
I'd like a sequel to Hummingbird (released as Redemption here in the States).

I remember enjoying the first one a lot, but can't remember a damn thing about it now

Never saw the first one, but I like Statham well enough that I'd be willing to give it a shot if it ever roams around on cable late at night or I'm bored and wander across it at the library for rental. Wasn't it a remake of an old Michael Winner flick? Can't imagine there was tons of clamor isn't for a sequel to this though, I thought the box office business it did was pretty tepid, maybe it became popular on DVD or something? Hopefully a proper fight choreographer will have Michelle Yeoh kicking the shit out of someone, especially is she and the Stath tag-team a bunch of baddies. That'd be all kinds of awesome.

Yeah, the original one starred Charles Bronson.

I liked both the original Bronson and the Statham movies. I would certainly see the sequel. I like these assassins taking on other assassins movies, but don't think any have really hot a home run yet. I still remember talk of that movie Gemini that was in the works. They were going to take an old actor like Sean Connery and have him play a retired hitman who has to fight for survival against a younger version of himself (in this case using snippets and CGI from the Bond movies). I guess Tron Legacy put that idea on ice.

I'm always down for Statham. I honestly don't remember much about the first one though either other than not being happy with the ending. I also saw the jacket Statham wore for this at Planet Hollywood and was amazed at how small it was. Especially with how jacked he always looks.

I don't remember the first one at all, but it doesn't really matter. I've liked about everything Statham has done, to varying degrees, so I'm sure I'll see this.

1st promotional still:
In Resurrection, Arthur Bishop (Jason Statham) returns as the Mechanic when someone from his past forces him back into the business. Bishop has to complete an impossible list of assassinations of the most dangerous men in the world, or he faces being executed himself. The movie was shot on location in Bangkok, Thailand. And it is directed by Dennis Gansel, best known for the recent thriller The Wave.
Jason Statham and Jessica Alba are joined in the cast by Tommy Lee Jones and Michelle Yeoh. The movie will hit theaters starting August 26. The first Mechanic movie starring Jason Statham was a modest hit at the global box office, bringing in over $62 million when it was released in January 2011. That film was a remake of the 1972 movie of the same name, which starred Charles Bronson and was directed by Michael Winner.

Wow, directed by Hansel. Have you guys seen The Wave? It's a Norwegian thriller about an incoming giant fucking wave that's going to sweep the town into the sea. I have not seen the film but saw the trail recently. Looks great.

1st trailer:
Looks decent. I'll probably see it in August. Statham isn't really a box office draw anymore, so this will probably make at most $30-40M in the U.S.

Two things,
1. Too bad Ben Foster can't be back.
2. I thought that was young Jesse Ventura in that poster above. Haha.

The guy who directed this also directed that German vampire film We Are the Night. Loved that flick and the chicks in that were hot.

This comes out tomorrow and there aren't any reviews?
I love Statham but I guess this is definitely going to be a rental. I'll probably catch Don't Breathe and Hell or High Water this weekend.
