I'm man enough to admit I got a bit weepy eyed at the end of TS3. I'm in for another one.

The pessimist in me says the only reason The Incredibles hasn't gotten its sequel yet is because merchandise sales would be so much smaller than Cars or Toy Story characters.

Here you go: http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/03/...e-in-the-works

Disney already announced The Incredibles 2 is coming. It was held off because Brad Bird wanted to do it (if they made a second one) and he wanted to work on other projects for the past couple of years... but now he's supposedly on board after Tomorrowland is finished.

It doesn't ruin 1-3 because they're good, but it's when you talk about the movies within the context of a franchise. KOTCS is always going to have an asterisk next to it as the Indy film generally considered the worst one. Sort of how there are people who say they love Star Wars EXCEPT the prequels.

Pixar has released a new 12 inch Mr Incredible sort if like a buzz lightyear figure

As to the news... I have mixed feelings. I love the Toy Story films. They are some of my favorite films regardless of genre. However, I agree with the sentiment some have expressed that Toy Story 3 was perfect closure to the story. Yet at the same time I understand why there is a 'want' to return to the characters of the Toy Story universe and it makes sense that John Lasseter would want to direct this. Hopefully they will do a great job on this new entry into the film series.

Must be a record for the biggest movie news day - SW title, final Hobbit trailer, and this! I'm sure it'll be a fine sequel, looking forward to it!

Yeah, the first 10 minutes and the final :20 or so (compactor scene to the end) are brilliant. It loses its way in the middle half.

But it ended with the gang and a new family for new adventures, no?

I thought 3 was an absolutely perfect ending, hope this isn't a mistake. But hey, too much money, I suppose.

While I wasn't near the fan of 3 as I was of the first two, the ending was perfect.

Remember when Disney practically forced Pixar to make Toy Story 2? Man times have changed. I'm not opposed to a Toy Story 4 in theory, I guess, but the franchise is Pixar's crown jewel and it would be disappointing if they sully the brand with a weak sequel.

I'm torn, they're 3 for 3 so far, but Brave, Cars 1 & 2 haven't been quite up to snuff (Brave is of course way ahead of the Cars movies), and the main Disney group is giving us movies like Tangled, Frozen and Wreck-It Ralph.

I hope their respect for these characters keeps this from being a cash-in.

The story came from the original Toy story brain trust, if this is purely just a money grab, then at least they are doing it the right way.

I think while they've had some weaker entries (mainly Cars and Cars 2) in their output Pixar overall still puts out mostly quality films. I'm not really too concerned that this film will be a misfire.

I think Brave is better than all of those Disney movies you mentioned. It's a film I've only grown to like more. It was and still a breath of fresh air from the typical princess/fairytale movies.

As for TS4, I'll see and I'm expecting it to be good, but 3 had such a great ending that a think a full length continuation is a hard followup.

What are the odds we'll have Marvel and Star Wars toys show up in this one?

I'm with the 'benefit of the doubt' group.

Wasn't 2 originally slated to be part of the DTV line, a cheap junk sequel?

My understanding is that Disney wanted a sequel, but Pixar didn't want to do it. So Disney started producing their own sequel as a cheapie DTV thing. When Pixar saw how bad it was, they stepped in and basically re-did it themselves.

And Pixar had so much pride in their work that even as Disney forced their hand to make Toy Story 2 Pixar did it knowing full well that it would not count toward their 4 original picture contractual agreement to Disney.

Wait a second, guys:

They're letting Rashida Jones from Parks and Recreation write the script???

What, are you kidding me? Since when has she proven herself to write a cartoon, let alone the fourth Toy Story movie?
