As someone who thought it was a mediocre film, I liked the honest trailer.

Yep, despite some issues, I loved the film. I also thought that Honest Trailer was great.

He's so talented all he has to do is fall asleep on his organ and bam, Oscar nomination.

Best line in that "trailer":

"It's not that we don't understand it. It's just really stupid."

Like many of those Honest Trailers, this one is filled with deliberate misunderstandings and oversimplifications, for the sake of comedy. Sometimes it's funny. I didn't find this one very funny, since most of the points were easily refuted (you'd think someone who reviews films would understand what a jump cut is).

Of course, that analogy originates back to A Wrinkle in Time (first published in 1962).

The bending of the paper scene should have been in the DK films to explain Batman constantly materializing out of thin air.

The folded paper analogy? I always assumed it was even older than that, I've heard it in way more sci-fi stories over the years than I could name.

Like he does in the comics and the animated series and has for decades?

I can't wait for the Law & Order: SVU episode that is based on your tragic past with Christopher Nolan.

And yet despite his traumatic past being violated repeatedly by Christopher Nolan, Stvn1974 is still seemingly first in line for every new Nolan movie.

I'm not a huge sci-fi fan, but is this movie slow moving?

Would your average film fan be bored by it with the long running time?

Nah'. It's one of those universally appealing drama-adventure movies.

Movie people got bored with a 15-20 minute part. But that was about it.

It was fine, I guess. I really didn't know what in the hell was going on some of the time though. Did not like Matt Damon showing up at all.

It's not slow moving, but they do needlessly repeat scientific concepts over and over again, just in case us "dolts" in the audience didn't hear them the first time.

So far it seems that Solid Snake got the best cell.

Re: Interstellar (Nolan, 2014) — The Reviews Thread

Excellent movie. Was drawn into it big time - this flick reminded me of when I was a kid and really just couldn't wait to see what happened next....I mean, I was just so into it and was really hoping the payoff (that you knew was coming) would work and it did.

This flick is definitely not for idiots - if you pay attention and grasp what is being told to you...you will have a good understanding of how it all came full circle.

Sure, there were a few parts that I just did not care for or buy
Spoiler:
Matthew M. daughter rushing him out of the room on her death bed, yeah I get the "No parent should have to see their kid die" line but it was just so rushed

I also liked
Spoiler:
Matt Damon's
role, I don't know why some have an issue with it - it was awesome to see them hit on the lazarus missions (I think they were called Lazarus).

I've been thinking about this flick since watching it a few days ago - just loved how you could "feel" how far away they were at times.

Anyway, definitely worth watching even if you're not into these types of flicks.
