A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night (2014) - D: Ana Lily Amirpour - Iranian vampire film
In the Iranian ghost-town Bad City, a place that reeks of death and loneliness, the townspeople are unaware they are being stalked by a lonesome vampire.
Looks interesting

I thought we had another thread for this, weird.
Anyway this is now streaming on Netflix, and I recommend fans of atmospheric movies give it a shot: it's mood and atmosphere over all else and is fairly successful overall, though some of it does come off as trying a little too hard in spots. You can tell she was heavily influenced by Dead Man.
I think the movie got a little flack from the indie circuit thanks to some recent feminism and the whole "if you're a man, you're a rapist!" backlash, and that's all been derived from the fact this is an Iranian movie about a woman. Unfortunate, it's a pretty cool little flick.

Just FYI, "The first Iranian Vampire Western" is just the tagline for the movie. While it is set in Iran and the major language is Farsi, it was filmed in the US by an English/American writer/director with Iranian immigrant parents. Some Iranian posters on IMDB say the real language of the movie is subtitled English because it's very clear the Farsi is was not written or spoken by native speakers.

Yeah, it's also very obviously not Iran throughout.

Saw it today and really liked it. Atmospheric and some nice B&W cinematography. Curious to see what Ana Lily Amirpour does next.

She already hit the big time. Keanu Reeves and a bunch of other big name folks are in her new movie: The Bad Batch.
