I see posts in Black Groups were people are telling folks to not only buy multiple tickets opening weekend, but to -NOT Bootleg- this move so it can make major $$$$.

This will be the second Marvel film I will probably skip in the theater. Dr Strange was the first; unfortunately this character just does not do anything for me.

I'll see this, like all the others. Not sure I missed one yet. This should be the same. Looks a little different with the whole jungle sets. Plus he was great in CW...

No real desire to see this. Black Panther isn't even a D-list character, he's more like a Z-list character. This is the most meh I've been on a Marvel movie since Dr. Strange.

I know absolutely nothing about this character, beyond what has been said in this thread. Considering none of the Marvel movies have strayed too far from their standard formula, I imagine I'll like this one about as much as the others. It's a double-edged sword for Marvel, some people are tired of the same ol' stuff, some people like me know we'll most likely enjoy it based on the previous output.

Doesn't matter what "list" the character is on from the comics as long as the movies make the character interesting; I never read much about Black Panther in the comics, but from his appearance in Civil War and the trailer we got, it looks pretty cool to me.
Given the box office take of movies like Dr. Strange and Spider-Man, and even simple stuff like Ant-Man, looks like people aren't tiring of the Marvel "formula" overall despite a few more vocal people in recent years.

Make Black Panther white
Since there is a growing number of race swapped characters, the fans would also like a white representation of Black Panther, either as a white character or retconning T'Challa as a white man (or woman since his name is unisex). Thanks and let's make America Great Again.

How about just leaving characters alone and keeping them as they already exist.
This shouldn't be an issue at all.
Now, actually ON TOPIC...
Black Panther (the movie) looks REALLY good. I have been looking forward to this movie since they first announced it. The character is a badass AND a statesman! After Civil War I got even more excited as they really did a great job bringing him to life!

Also Dr. Strange was awesome, and that's a character I knew even less about than BP.

What? I'm not even a huge comic fan anymore and I know Black Panther is pretty up there in the pantheon. Plus he's awesome in Civil War, which was a great way to introduce him to the movie fans.

I don't know who others consider part of the "pantheon" or Marvel superheroes, but growing up (80's and 90's) and casually reading comics and watching all the cartoons, Black Panther would be pretty far down the list of characters or Avengers that I knew and recognized.
