re: Transformers: The Last Knight (2017, Bay) - News, rumors, etc.
The Transformers movies started off badly and have gotten worse every time. Shia and his idit parents in the first 3 movies was bad enough, but then they get rid of them only to be replaced by that no talent Wahlberg. I hate that guy. Wish i could punch his stupid face. And that whiney voice of his. Extinction was one of the worst movies i have ever seen. I thought Transformers 3 was terrible, bloated and a huge boresfest, but seeing Extinction made it seem like Lawrence of Arabia in comparison.
And i have never been a fan of Michael Bay. Even movies like The Rock which got praised a lot i find pretty bad. And i have never seen the appeal of the Bad Boys movies. Just awful. I am trying to think of a single movie that Bay has made that i enjoyed to any extent.
Just checked his IMDb filmography....not a single one. What a load of shit this guy has done, and will continue to do.

Be carful now - Michael Bay is like Stanley Kubrick compared to Zack Snyder.
*ducks for cover*

Could be worse. We could be getting news that Christopher Nolan is directing. 2 hours of giant robots explaining to each other how they transform into cars.

Bay is Universal's personal gold mine on this franchise. I bet he can name his price with each installment by now.

After skipping the last installment, Josh Duhamel is set to return to the “Transformers” franchise, rejoining director Michael Bay, who helmed the previous films.
Mark Wahlberg, who is also returning for “The Last Night,” announced the news on Twitter.

Anthony Hopkins is joining the cast of Paramount and Hasbro’s next “Transformers” film with Mark Wahlberg starring and Michael Bay returning to direct.
Lorenzo di Bonaventura is producing the movie.
Details behind the next pic are under wraps, and sources say that Wahlberg is the only cast member from “Age of Extinction” who’s expected to reprise his role.
This past spring, Paramount announced it would be assembling a writers’ room to build its new “Transformers” universe that would include spinoffs, along with new installments in the franchise. The room was overseen by Akiva Goldsman with the studio recently tapping Art Marcum and Matt Holloway (“Iron Man”) along with Ken Nolan (“Black Hawk Down”) to write the script.
Hopkins was last seen in “Collide.” He is repped by UTA and Independent Talent Group.

I'd rather see Shia back. Wahlberg sucked. As the fifth installment, we don't need human characters anymore, at least not as major characters. Humans have always been an albatross on the franchise, at least after the first movie. The argument that transformers can't carry a movie at this point is ridiculous.

....is that right? I'm not a Hopkins fan... so I'm not like.. really that knowledgable on his craft. I know he's a solid actor but... from what I've also seen... seems like he's been taking it easy for a while too. Odin is a role that is so simple for him to do that he just doesn't add a lot to it either. It's just the motions w/ him now.

Director Michael Bay revealed a first look at the transforming robot, which is a completely original character created for the film. Check out the photo below to see Squeaks, alongside Bay and Isabela Moner, who stars as the movie's female lead.
Transformers: The Last Knight opens in theaters on June 23, 2017. In addition to Moner, the film stars Mark Wahlberg, who reprises his role as Cade Yeager from Age of Extinction, as well as Anthony Hopkins, whose role has yet to be revealed.
The Last Knight also marks the return of the infamous Decepticon leader Megatron and brings with a brand-new look for Bumblebee's Camaro.

Welp, I always wanted a M.A.S.K. movie. Looks like Bay, as he so often does, is delivering the worst part.

Anthony Hopkins is all well and good but you have to remember John Turturro, Francis McDormand, Jon Voight, Stanley Tucci, and John Malkovich have all appeared in previous Transformers movies and didn't exactly elevate the material.
