That's just it though. The films Affleck stars in he'll probably have a hand in but I don't know if that means anything for the films he's not involved with. I don't expect Batman to show up in every DC film so I don't know why Affleck would work on other films unless Warner really elevated his importance to the overall DC Cinematic Universe. DC needs someone who is going to be in charge of keeping everything on track going forward or things are going to fall apart more.

Many times EP credits mean nothing, like Burton on Batman Forever.

Some clarification on what Ben's role will be with the new title:
From the Deadline story that Rich posted.
From the Deadline story that Rich posted.
In that role, he will work with director Zack Snyder and screenwriter Chris Terrio behind the scenes to make the film the best it can be. It seems like a smart move, given that Affleck is already on the premises to reprise his Batman/Bruce Wayne character, and because he’s as strong a storytelling presence as Warner Bros has on its lot. He showed that with his writing-directing efforts Gone Baby Gone, The Town and Argo, the latter of which won the Best Picture Oscar for Warner Bros and was scripted by Terrio, who also won an Academy Award for the film.

9 times out of 10, actors being given an Executive Producer titles only mean a bigger paycheck and nothing more. Some EPs are just the people who help finance the movie. EPs in TV have a much more bigger role in production and writing.
Since Ben is co-starring in this and will write and direct the solo Batman movie, putting his name in this title probably means more to him and his creative relationship with WB. They want to do business with him and this is his reward.

Yeah, usually I wouldn't put much stock in the EP credit but it sounds like in this case it's a way of giving him more say. Sounds good to me.

Who needs Darkseid? Sigh.
REPORT: Darkseid May Not Be DC Films' Main "Justice League" Villain
While most of us assumed Darkseid would be the chief villain of Zack Snyder's "Justice League" movie -- since the character's iconic logo was teased in "Batman v Superman's" Knightmare sequence -- a new report suggests otherwise, positing that Steppenwolf is the primary villain for the film.
According to Birth.Movies.Death., "Steppenwolf has a contentious history with Darkseid [in 'Justice League'], which could be why he's invading the Earth. But stopping him - and, I'm assuming, his Parademon hordes - requires more power than the members of the Justice League can muster, and so they must turn to a dead friend for help..."
The site notes in the report that Darkseid might make an appearance at the end of "Justice League Part One," possibly to set up "Justice League Part Two" -- but asserts that the tyrannical ruler of Apokolips will be absent from the first "Justice League."

^^ this sentence makes no sense:
"Steppenwolf has a contentious history with Darkseid [in 'Justice League'], which could be why he's invading the Earth."
how the hell does point A lead to point B?

Because WB heard that Marvel is changing Avengers: Infinity War Part I&II into 2 different titles and that we might not see Thanos 'til the 2nd one. So they gotta follow suit.

It seems like it would be smart to get Darkseid in a film before Thanos is front and center in Infinity War.

I don't know anything about Steppenwolf, so I'd certainly be disappointed if he was the main villain over Darkseid.

Too bad he doesn't give a crap about visual storytelling or... storytelling on paper even.

The difference is that w/ Thanos we get an actor's presence. If THAT is the Steppenwolf we get... it's another CGI creation that isn't led by performance so much that it's led by whatever leads Snyder into thinking it's cool.

I'm going to guess what I speculated before. Pt. 1 will be dealing with the invasion, which will be Darkseid's minions. They'll build up to Darkseid showing up and Pt 2 will be dealing with him.

I have been very happy so far with the way Thanos has turned out. They have kept the look of the comic character and Brolins voice seems to fit. I was initially dubious about Brolin being brought in, but so far its worked. I think the character will be a highlight of the future movies. I mean the Hulk in the first Avengers movie was very well done and a few of the best moments in that film revolved around him.

I had to look up motherboxes, since i'm not that big of a DC guy other then Batman and didn't even realize they were in some of the animated series.

Seems decent enough, not much different from Thanos being after infinity stones I guess.

sources also say that a majority of "Justice League" will be shot on sets against a green screen, so director Zack Snyder can "utilize background replacement" like he did on "300." This will both allow him greater control over the look of the film and keep set photos from location shoots from leaking online.

Ugh. I really hate that shit. It really takes away from a grounded reality. That last fight w/ Doomsday bothered me cuz of stuff like that. Like... it was too obvious it was cgi.
