I'm going to check it out tonight at 8pm. Reviews I've read have pretty much been stating if you like first, you'll like this.

I'm sure it will open well. There have been ads for this movie constantly. It's more Ted, and it will probably open well enough, maybe $50-60m perhaps? I don't see the backlash this one will get like some other comedy sequels have had, like The Hangover Part II (and why Part III in that series didn't do well compared to the others). I didn't even see the first one in theaters, but I might show up this time. I usually don't rush out to comedies anymore, though I did go see Entourage.

I feel that way about most movies these days. I felt there was surprisingly little buzz for Avengers 2 and Jurassic World as well. Less hype for Inside Out, and absolutely none for Spy. And all seem to have done pretty well.

Just came back from an 8pm showing.

Not as good as the first, but the film still packs a bunch of laughs without repeating the same jokes twice which a lot of comedy sequels are notorious for.

The first half was hilarious IMO but the last 40 minutes dragged, never seemed to end and had like 6 laughs - wildly uneven. That being said the highlight's were the cereal, the improv and the JP theme. Lowlights were the whole comic-con/Ribisi subplot. If you liked the first there is enough here to justify the ticket price but the laughs really taper off in the end.
