Seeing it at a sneak on the local military base this Saturday. Hope it's worth the time.

The story seems like something I'd. But I hate LaBoof and Pittface when he does his over acting. If they wanted something like Pitt gave just give the role to Cage.

l'm not a fan of either. Though Pitt usually does solid work. Labeouf is actually a decent actor. He doesn't get my attention when he's casted but he isn't a bad actor either. He has gotten better. Is all the hate from his Bay work or what?

Um... it might have something to do with him acting like a douche when he's not filming something.
I thought he was solid in Charlie Countryman - that's a terrific film.

(Also born around that time: Megan Fox, Amanda Bynes, Lindsay Lohan and the Olsen Twins.)

I saw this on Thursday night. I'll write it up after someone starts a review thread.

If you've never seen a WWII movie--as I'm sure was the case with younger viewers at the screening I went to--then FURY would seem exciting and original to you. But if you've seen TONS of WWII movies--like I have--it's all pretty clichéd and old hat. A little grittier than most and done with skill and assurance, but the plot elements are all standard war movie stuff. And Pitt plays his role as a standard-issue movie star, riding into battle standing tall and unharmed...
With a little less violence and gore, this could easily have been made in the 1960s, although they probably would have softened the characters a bit. But if they'd made a tank combat movie in the 1970s, it might have looked like this. And I might have liked it better then.
I also wonder about whether a clerk-typist with no combat experience or tank training (the new guy played by Logan Lerman) would be assigned to be a gunner with a battle-hardened tank crew after only eight weeks in the army. That didn't ring true with me.
I liked INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS much better.

Well to my pleasant surprise, the rating has been trending up. Started at 61% last week and now stands at 78% with 46 reviews in. I may catch a showing tonight.

By Hollywood, I meant, obviously. But there've been so many WWII films from other countries as well, I just wonder what there is left to do with the genre. I think it'd take a Kubrick or a Malick to really do something genuinely new.

Has there been a WWII tank crew film? The only that popped up for me is where eagles dare but..it's not a tank crew. It just has a tank driven by Donald Sutherland.

Now I want a Nick Fury movie. Maybe one with David Hasselhoff Fury during WWII. Then he has a black baby who becomes Sam Jackson Fury in the modern day.

Hasselhoff was great as Fury. The movie not so much. It was entertaining but very cheesy.
