Logan (Wolverine 3) (2017, D: Mangold) S: Jackman, Stewart
http://www.deadline.com/2013/11/jame...olverine-film/
From Deadline:
EXCLUSIVE: Twentieth Century Fox has begun negotiations with James Mangold to return for another installment of The Wolverine, with Hugh Jackman bringing back his signature character with the razor sharp adamantium hooks. This comes after The Wolverine played very strongly overseas, enough to now sit as the second highest grossing X-Men film of all time. The film has grossed $413 million worldwide, with $132 million domestic and $280 million in international revenue.
Here’s where it is right now. Mangold is making a deal to write the treatment, with X-Men franchise matriarch Lauren Shuler Donner producing. The storyline is being kept under tight wraps. I think Mangold did a bang up job on his first superhero film. When I met him at Comic-Con San Diego, he said he tried to veer from the usual superhero formula–if hero doesn’t succeed, world is doomed–and instead make it a character-driven storyline. There were plenty of action pieces, samurai swordplay and reasons for Logan to work up that famous temper, but at its core the film worked because the stakes were subtler and the storytelling somehow more intimate. Mangold is repped by WME and Management 360, Jackman by WME.

this is odd. Hugh in all his interviews said he was done. i really thought he would stick to it. i haven't really liked his character since X3, sorry to say, but love love the character in the comics when i was younger.

I (finally) saw this last week and loved it. Absolutely my favorite X-Men related film. Like others, I found Viper to be a rather lackluster villain but I think overall I wasn't entirely bothered by how lame she was. The movie excelled in other areas to make up for it.
I never heard that Jackman said he was done. Hell, he started filming Days of Future Past when The Wolverine had just been released and the only thing I recall is him talking about how grueling the process is to beef up. I was under the impression he has a lot of fun with it and as long as its not a shit story he'll be up for the role as long as he can.
Question though, regarding a sequel:

Pretty sure Jackman would play Wolverine anytime that anyone asks him to. I could probably get him for my fan film if I asked nicely .

Given Jackman has reportedly been lobbying for Fox and Marvel to allow Wolverine to be in The Avengers 3, I doubt he's tired of the role in the slightest.

Wolverine could be the least interesting character in comics... they managed to shoehorn into the central role in Days of Future Past, for cryin out loud. Thank Jebus Marvel Studios proper is digging deeper into their stable of characters.
Wolverine in Avengers 3... blerg.

Heres what he said:
http://www.comicbookresources.com/?p...ticle&id=48931
Jackman had suggested in September that next summer's "X-Men: Days of Future Past" could be his final turn as Wolverine, although he didn't dismiss the possibility for another film entirely. "I do feel that. If there are any more movies, there would have to be a really good reason for it," he said.
Indeed, Jackman was convinced his days as the adamantium-clawed mutant would've ended years ago. "I can tell you this, and I can say this now: I wasn’t sure that I would do another Wolverine movie after the first one,” he said. “I just felt that I hadn’t done the character justice, and that was a bit of a hole inside of me.”

Yeah. That man is VERY grateful for the character so much that he is game to play him as much as he can.
Jackman is amazing to see in how he transforms his body for the role. X1 Wolverine would get his ass kicked by The Wolverine Wolverine.
While I don't think Fox's X-Men fits well in the MCU, If be game to have Jackman involved. If just to have that backstory as to what happened to Fury's eye. An Ultimate X-Men bit.
Edit: well guess he can be ready to quit it from what that article says.

Of course this thread wouldn't be complete without Mr. Felini himself Jumpcutz and his snarky remarks.

Sounds good to me, I really enjoyed The Wolverine. I'm not tired of the character in movies at all.
