'Narcos' Star Boyd Holbrook in Talks for 'Wolverine 3' Villain

The actor will be going toe-to-toe with Hugh Jackman.

Wolverine 3 may have found its villain in Narcos actor Boyd Holbrook.

Holbrook is in early negotiations to play the baddie that will spar with Hugh Jackman's Wolverine in the third installment of the Fox franchise.

David James Kelly will write the script with The Wolverine helmer James Mangold set to direct the X-Men spin-off, which Jackman has said will be his final appearance as the anti-hero. Patrick Stewart will also be starring in the movie.

The movie is set to hit theaters March 3, 2017.

Holbrook played DEA agent Steve Murphy on Netflix's Pablo Escobar drama. Along with this, he has had turns in indie like Skeleton Twins, Very Good Girls and Sundance selection The Free World, as well as a role in David Finch's Gone Girl. He will next be acting alongside Paul Giamatti and Kate Mara in Luke Scott's Morgan.

He is repped by CAA and Morris Yorn.

Eriq Lasalle is set to join the cast of “Wolverine 3” starring Hugh Jackman.

Boyd Holbrook and Stephen Merchant are also on board. James Mangold is directing.

Plot details are being kept under wraps, as are details behind Lasalle’s role. David James Kelly penned the script.

Fox has scheduled “Wolverine 3” for March 3. “X-Men Origins: Wolverine,” directed by Gavin Hood, was the fourth film in the X-Men series and grossed $375 million worldwide in 2009. Four years later, Mangold directed “The Wolverine,” which grossed $415 million worldwide.

“The Wolverine” was the sixth film in the X-Men universe, followed by “X-Men: Days of Future Past,” “Deadpool” and “X-Men: Apocalypse,” which opens May 27. “Wolverine 3” will be the 10th film in the franchise.

Best known for his portrayal of Dr. Peter Benton on NBC’s smash medical drama “ER,” Lasalle most recently recurred on CBS’ “A Gifted Man” and “The Widow Man.”

Lasalle has also been directing episodes of TV shows such as “CSI: Cyber,” “Madame Secretary,” “Crisis,” “Battle Creek” and “Night Shift.”

He is repped by Principato-Young Entertainment, Paradigm and attorney Fred Toczek.

“I’m not sure what I’m allowed to say about that. I will agree with you that Patrick Stewart was rumored to be a part of that film. It takes place in the future, and as you and others have reported, it is an R-rated movie. It’s violent, it’s kind of like a western in its tone. It’s just a very cool, different film.”
