Watched that red band trailer - gave me chills! The litte girl is obviously X-23.
I thought in that brief clip at @1:26-1:27 that was Sinister, but it could have been Caliban.

What's the timeframe on this with regards to the other X-films?
Wolverine is a long-lived character, so if it's really a riff on Old Man Logan, it should be really far into the future, and Prof X should already be dead. Going by First Class, he really couldn't have been born after 1940, so he's in his late 70s in 2017. And if they're introducing X-23 in this film, they'll need some kind of time travel to integrate her into the current (or earlier) X-Men teams to replace Wolverine.
Looks to be a pretty good film in its own right, but I'm wondering how it will integrate into the broader X-Universe. The continuity on those films has always been kind of a mess (looking at your X-Men Origins Wolverine!), and I fear this will just add to that.

Charles may have some advanced age shit going on in here. Like... he's way past his prime type of shit. We've seen stories like that... where this old as fuck guy is still around somehow...

my thought was that it was to keep everything out. Basically shut him off from the world, so he isn't hearing everyone

There's a bit in there where Chuck is surround by some guys and the screen is shaking. The girl is on the ground struggling to get to somewhere, screen shaking And the screen is also shaking when Logan stabs the guy in the head. Charles may not be able to control his powers so well anymore.

Always fun to see what they change in trailers like this. The CG coverup of bloody object, the coloration of the blood, a different scene, etc.

<iframe width="660" height="415" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/G1aSAQ1CibQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Question: Why is it a big deal to remove that bloody rag/towel and to darken the blood? As long as it's not graphic... why the change? What are the rules exactly?
EDIT: Hrmmm. The Green band trailer is darker... literally. Brightness toned by a good bit. I hope the film has more of the red band's brightness.

The big change is not showing Logan impale a dude's head with his claws. That would be a bit much for a green band trailer.
Love the trailer.

Great trailers.
Looks like the most personal and grounded movie in the X-Men franchise. And great use of the Johnny Cash song.

The timeline for the series is really confusing.
As you said, the events of XM 1-3 are completely wiped out by DOFP.
Are we sure the final scene of DOFP takes place that far ahead in the future? So where would that make Logan taking place? In the trailers, Charles looks significantly than when we last saw him in DOFP.
I'm also a little confused about the future scenes in the opening of DOFP and when do those take place before they got wiped out? Charles didn't look that old and Logan still didn't look like he aged.

It's been used before, the Cash song, but... I think this may be the best use of it. Add in that it seems like it's all coming to an end too. Appropriately sad.
Jackman is a very underrated actor. I feel like most movie audiences never really accept him when he's going full dramatic. And this may be a good way to flex those muscles for more mainstream stuff. He's a great Logan. But I do feel like his best work was in The Prestige and The Fountain.

I feel similar, especially after the hopeful ending of DoFP. But that said, it looks really interesting. I haven't read the Old Man Logan comic book storyline, though I read the summary on Wikipedia and that sounds like a gripping story. The trailer looks good. I wonder how accessible it is at this point to casual fans or those who have only seen a few of these movies. Maybe they don't really care about that, though.

I know he did Wolverine 2 but this seems to harken a lot to drama and action of 3:10 to Yuma. Which was fucking great. It does give off a western vibe.

Empire chatted with Mangold in a breakdown of the new trailer, and the interview included a few major details for fans. First up: He confirmed the film is set after the future coda in X-Men: Days of Future Past, meaning we’re probably around the late 2020s or early 2030s at this point. He also talked about how age has changed Wolverine both physically and mentally, meaning we might not be able to see all the scars he’s sporting.
