That's a character drama of a trailer. That's what you want w/ Logan. He's all emotion and turmoil w/ some happiness. He's just not a character that knows happiness. Really nice trailer.

Please don't go dumbfuck like you went w/ Wolverine 2 at the end. Please don't go dumb fuck. Keep it in the grit.
Wolverine 2 was damn near perfect until you get to Yashida's building.

I very much approve of it's more dramatic aspect. The action is there but the character is more about... character than the action. The action is just a cherry on top w/ Logan. It's always been like that.

Is that wrong? Logan has always had it both ways. It's part of the world he is part of and the world that he himself is involved in.

Old Man Logan really doesn't mean much for this tale, we're working w/ the frame of the story at best. Cuz of the rights. Even w/ OML in the fold of the conversation... Logan has always been at his best when's about the character drama.

I'm really uncomfortable, in a good way, w/ how this ends for Logan and Charles. I want it to happen, and can see some hints, but don't want it to happen all the same. Just cuz of how attached we've become to Jackman and Stewart's portrayals. Especially Stewart. He's always at his A game. I'm actually more excited cuz he's in it as old as fuck Charles. And Mangold knows how to do really good inner character turmoil.

Well he died in X3, and look what happened after that. This looks....interesting. And is this supposed to fit in one of the timelines of the other movies? I'm guessing after Days of Future Past? Apocalypse?

Re: Logan (Wolverine 3) (2017, D: Mangold) S: Jackman
What's the timeframe on this with regards to the other X-films?
Wolverine is a long-lived character, so if it's really a riff on Old Man Logan, it should be really far into the future, and Prof X should already be dead. Going by First Class, he really couldn't have been born after 1940, so he's in his late 70s in 2017. And if they're introducing X-23 in this film, they'll need some kind of time travel to integrate her into the current (or earlier) X-Men teams to replace Wolverine.
Looks to be a pretty good film in its own right, but I'm wondering how it will integrate into the broader X-Universe. The continuity on those films has always been kind of a mess (looking at your X-Men Origins Wolverine!), and I fear this will just add to that.

I really enjoyed The Wolverine a lot and it was easily the best outing for Wolverine. People always go on about the Mansion scenes from X2, but if you re-watch them other than stabbing the guy in the kitchen the rest is a little clunky. Now this looks like its really bringing us a nasty Wolverine, just a shame its not one thats in his prime. I am really digging the look of the movie and glad that its giving us a different take on well tread comic book territory.
And yes, i believe Nathaniel Essex (Mr Sinister) is in this and guessing its Richard E. Grant in the role.
