I think Cooper is starting to come into his own a little more and has gotten better as an actor but I'm not sure if I'd put him on the same level as a legend like Paul Newman. Not yet at least.

didn't bother with Hangover III, but watching Cooper attempting to "act" in II was painful. Newman was pretty much a great actor pretty much off the bat.

Get back to me when Cooper is in a film half as good as Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, The Hustler, Sweet Bird of Youth, Hud, Cool Hand Luke, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, The Sting, Slapshot, The Verdict.
Furthermore, let me know when Bradley Cooper starts a multi million dollar corporation and donates all profits to charity.
Oh and all the plastic surgery in the world couldn't make Bradley Cooper as handsome as Paul Newman. Paul Newman might the most handsome man who ever lived.
There really isn't an actor alive who compares to Paul Newman.
The closest would be Kirk Douglas and he's almost 100.

If we're going by looks, this rat faced motherfucker isn't in the same galaxy as Newman. If we're judging acting talent, Cooper isn't in the same universe.
If we're talking "movie star" status...well it's just not fair.
Paul Newman is top five/ten all-time.
Bradley Cooper isn't even in the conversation when it comes to his contemporaries. He's an average actor, at best.

Their not even in the same league. Paul was still a bad ass in his old age as a race car drive. He was wiinning races in his 70's. Cooper is going to be a footnote at best.

The difference with this analogy is that Paul Newman is a great actor, and Bradley Cooper is a pretty good actor. Just watch Paul Newman in a movie like 'The Color of Money' where he steals every scene, and makes Tom Cruise look like an amateur actor who doesn't belong on screen with him.
Hollywood has always been about looks and charisma, but now it worse then it ever has. You have people in Hollywood who have no business being actors/actresses, but they are good looking so they will keep working. I say this because because you used to have 'A' list stars like Dustin Hoffman, Gene Hackman & Meryl Streep, who weren't considered classically beautiful, but were acting heavyweights and got all the big roles. I can't think of many great actors/actresses in Hollywood right now who are not considered 'great looking' these days who are getting the big time roles.

In an effort to remain courteous and respectful, I answered 'no'. But ONLY because I wanted to remain courteous and respectful.
