I thought they were the same company too.

I loved this movie but McBride had too big a part in it for my liking. I would have preferred that he wasn't in it for the most part and just showed up towards the end the same way he did.

They're the same company, but from what I understand they have some slightly different menu items.

I don't know if she was a good actress or not, but I was talking more about the kind of person she is. If the movie company knew what kind of person she was, why did they hire her ? Did they just not care ?

What is the big deal with having Rihanna in a cameo? And what is this "did they not know what type of person she is" stuff?

She got beaten up by Chris Brown is about all I've heard of her.

x2

All the characters in the movie were playing themselves so it's not like her acting ability would make a difference.

Edit: Nevermind. I didn't realize SpottedFeather was talking about Rihanna. Or why anyone would single her out in a movie full of people playing themselves for maybe 2 minutes.

She's probably friends with some of the actors and considering she has a love of booze and weed like pretty much everybody else her age, it wouldn't surprise me.

I am kind of curious "What kind of person she is.", left handed? Good at Math? A popular singer? In shitty relationships? She's in the movie just long enough to get slapped on the ass by Michael Cera, slap him back and sing a quick song with Craig Robinson and James Franco.

EDIT: Full Discosure, I've never eaten at or even seen a Carl's Jr., this was just my assumption based on the fact that they have the same logo and commericals.
Essentially now, they're the same restaurant but the biggest difference is their breakfast menus. Hardee's has maintained and changed very little about theirs since the 80s. CKE (which owns Carl's) bought the chain in the late 90s and implemented most of their menu.

As for the movie, I loved it. The last "great" comedy to me was The Other Guys, but this has easily become a future favorite. I don't get how you could want less of McBride -- he was barely in it when compared to the main cast. In fact I was more surprised by how small of a role he has compared to what I was thinking.

The liked the mini Superbad reunion and Pineapple Express 2 had me really wanting a sequel.

I really thought they pretty much did everything right. I love it when actors can have fun making fun of themselves (ala NPH in the Harold & Kumar movies), so this was a lot of fun. Franco's creepy affection for Rogen was awesome.

I love when Jonah is praying (won't say what he's praying for)

and he says something along the lines of:
"God, it's Jonah Hill, from Moneyball"

Yeah, she got beaten up...but she went back to him. THAT'S the problem. I liked her until that.

That isn't exactly uncommon in any culture. Unfortunately emotions and logic don't always mix, common sense doesn't always prevail.

Shitty relationships suck ass, on the bright side they broke up again.

Re: This is the End (Goldberg/Rogen, 2013) — The Reviews Thread

I saw this earlier on because I like the guys involved and because of all the great reviews. There were about six people in the theater and literally no one laughed through any of it. I chuckled through some parts, but it seems like this movie had so much more potential to really go for it and just fell short. I also thought the Pineapple Express 2 gag went on for way too long.

I didn't care for the Pineapple Express thing much, but it was very short. Hard to believe that's something to complain about.

It would suck to see it in a theater without almost no one in there, though.

I went and saw this today and thought it was hilarious.

I love Danny McBride though, and the argument with James Franco was hilarious

The Pineapple Express 2 trailer was used on April 1st as part of viral marketing. I already watched it a few times. So it didn't do much for me.

The first half was awesome. The second half went quickly downhill and I kept looking at my watch the whole time. I loved the Gluten thing, though, and did laugh out loud at various points.

Much better than The World's End which seemed like a cheap variation on this.

Their similarities start and and finish with the word "End" in the title. There's nothing remotely similar about either film, even considering one is about the rapture and the other is about a post-apocalyptic world.

Well technically the two leads in both start off as friends, then get pissy, then get back as friends.

World's End was a better overall movie, This is the End was a bit funnier.

Re: This is the End (Goldberg/Rogen, 2013) — The Reviews Thread

My wife and I caught this one today. I'd heard that it had been re-released, but didn't think my theater was going to show it. I figured we might as well check it out on the big screen while we had the chance. We were the only ones in the whole theater, haha.

We both loved it. Really good stuff. I didn't know about Emma Watson walking off, so I was kind of wondering why they'd never revisited her character. Makes sense now. The ending stuff with BSB was a great way to wrap up and not what I expected at all.

Bought this early on VUDU. Early by like a month, I couldn't resist. The wife and I enjoyed it. Lots of fun stuff. Love McBride, but everyone was good.

The demon dog design/execution was super well done. Really surprised to see that level of fx in a stoner comedy.

Saw this last night, finally. Really was surprised by it. I expected to like it, but I loved it. I had no clue it was gonna be so much a survival/horror movie. Ending was awesome. My friend, who prefers more the romantic comedy types of movies, also really enjoyed it.

Re: This is the End (Goldberg/Rogen, 2013) — The Reviews Thread

Redboxed it and thought it was entertaining as hell. Craig Robinson had lots of good lines and I didn't even care for the "panty party" song. I did like the "fuck yo house, Franco" line. And a few others.

Emma is fine as hell and a posh ****. No complaints on her little cameo. It was grand.

And I like Channing Tatum even more now.

My one and only complaint would have to be:
Spoiler:
Since Jay and Seth have ascended into heaven and can wish for anything why would Jay wish for a Backstreet Boys flasmob dance sequence instead of bringing Franco and Hill up there with them?
I found that to be very not cool.
