I would have loved to apply the mold on Léa Seydoux.

One of the sex scenes is said to be 10 minutes long. And in my opinion, it's just porn for the arthouse crowd. They'll make up other excuses for 'liking' the film and seeing some 'deep meaning' in it. But it's the sex scenes that really sell it, but they're too ashamed to admit so. That's what all the 'erotic' indie/art films ever amount to in my opinion.
I love how frank the French are. Reminds me of someone who mailed in to Mark Kermode's BBC radio show and talked about a Q&A with Gaspar Noe after a screening of Enter the Void. When someone in the audience talked about the sex scenes being gratuitous, Noe simply said "It is life," and went on to the next question .

She was also the French hottie shacking up with King John in Robin Hood and one of the farmer's daughters at the beginning of Inglorious Basterdz.

I never said films with explicit sex are never any good. Some are, some are not, though I haven't seen the films you listed yet. I was just saying usually graphic sex and nudity is the main thing arthouse/indie films use as 'provocative' to stand out from 'mainstream' studio films, and it's pretty played out in terms of all the 'meaning' behind the material. 9 Songs for example is not deep and is just a dull film filled with non-stop graphic sex. But the director may spin it as something 'more' than just sex in the film, when really it's just porn for the arthouse crowd. Albeit, usually more well made than porn, which is a good thing. It's just annoying when they seem ashamed to admit the sex/nudity is a big aspect of the film just for the hell of it, and instead say it's not for 'titillation' but some 'deep' subtext behind it when they're full of it, such as in the case of 9 Songs.

Alright, this is all well and good, but I have to ask the question no one else has dared to utter:
Will there be straight man on man action in this movie?

Re: Hot lesbians win Palme d'Or at Cannes
I think they have a point...
Blue Is The Warmest Color hasn’t had an easy road since it won the top prize at Cannes in May. First Abdellatif Kechiche’s film was ruled ineligible for the Best Foreign Language Film Oscar race because of its October 9 opening in France, which is nine days after the deadline for a submitting country. Now the controversial lesbian drama’s US distributor says it will release the film domestically with an oppressive NC-17 rating. Sundance Selects, which isn’t an MPAA member, says it opted not to trim scenes of “explicit sexual content” or release the pic unrated. Warmest Color, starring Lea Seydoux and Adele Exarchopoulos, will open October 25, shortly after its screening at the New York Film Festival. “This is a landmark film with two of the best female performances we have ever seen on screen,” Sundance Selects/IFC Films President Jonathan Sehring said in a statement. “The film is first and foremost a film about love, coming of age and passion. We refuse to compromise Kechiche’s vision by trimming the film for an R rating. … An NC-17 rating no longer holds the stigma it once did.”

^Enter the Void was released unrated
Also i have a feeling that while Blue is being released by IFC Films, it won't be a same day as VOD like most of their titles
