Re: The Changing Characters Discussion
I think most characters in comic-based TV or film should be kept in line with their print counterparts, unless the project in question is completely different from established canon. To do otherwise would upset a lot of fans, but more importantly, would go against the original creators' intent.
Tell me, what is the origin of Green Lantern? I'll give you a hint, it has nothing to do with aliens on Oa.
Pop culture characters get reinvented to fit with the times. It happens over and over.

Took a second for that to sink in.
Sue and Johnny Storm can easily be black. I don't have an issue with that. BUT like someone else said just make new ethnic heroes. Granted it may not be as easy as in the past because comics are not as popular.

Blade could just as easily be a white or Asian guy. Or woman.
Black Panther could not. Maybe a woman, but definitely not white or Asian.
There's nothing about, say, Robin or Wonder Girl that says they have to be white. Batman, most likely, needs to be white given that (a) the Wayne family is generations of money, unlikely for a black family in America, and (b) if Batman were black the Feds would be combing the desert for him on Day One.
Nothing says Green Lantern can't be a homo.
