Grown Ups 2 (oh, what's the use of listing things...)

There is a very thin line between the two in terms of their "go to" on screen persona.
Lewis benefited from more talent behind the camera and in front (Dean Martin), but really, they both play "the idiot." History and the French make the comparison seem more far fetched than it actually is in reality.
It is easy to hate on Sandler's "idiot" characters, but American critics did the same exact thing with Lewis' "idiots" when his films came out too.

I'd rather see Sharknado, sadly. What a waste of a few good talents (Hayek, James...not really anyone else).

Its' funny, I didn't see GU1 but I have to admit seeing Mayah Rudolph and others who will be in GU2 has me kinda wanting to see it. Don't get me wrong...it looks stupid. But still....

I laughed a little bit, but this movie literally has no plot. Slight recommend if you would like some laughs, but a lot of the jokes don't work and once again, the story is nonexistent.

Okay, okay, I'll fess up. I saw it. The kids saw the commercials on one of the kid cable networks and couldn't stop talking about it.
Like the previous post, I did laugh several times - BUT - I agree that basically GU2 is just a bunch of set-pieces strung together from one end to the other.
If I had to sum up the "plot" of GU2, I couldn't tell anything more than: A lot of weird crap happens on the last day of school.
I'm surprised there was an editor on this movie, as it seems that everything (and I mean all the extraneous, useless crap) that was filmed was slapped together on screen.

See!!! I'm not the only one that liked Grown Ups 2!!!
Go internet!!!
I'll probably end up seeing it for a 3rd time in the theater. I'll give it a couple of weeks though as there's still nothing else good in the theater.

I found it hard to laugh at all of the flat jokes. I did think the start of the 80s party with everyone in costume was pretty hilarious, that is if you remember and grew up in the 80s, but it doesn't help all of the other awful moments. Someone needs to never to hire the editor as there were so many scenes of flat jokes that would linger instead of cut away, like they were really trying to hold on all that supposed laughter.

I watched this movie only because I had to switch my movie plans at the last minute and the start time worked well with my schedule.
I will preface this with I liked the first one.
My god what a turd of a movie. Couple chuckles was about it. I wished I had seen The Heat again.

Needing some laughs, I checked out "Grown Ups 2", and for a plot-less movie, I got enough laughs out of it, however juveline the humor is derived from, still enjoyed it.
The 4 main best friends are back (played by Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock, and David Spade), as well as some new editions (Shaq has some funny scenes, and college d-bags played by Taylor Lautner and Milo Ventimiglia very broadly). The main 4 characters have an easy-going chemistry that keeps the film afloat, throughout the wacky situations. Nick Swardson has a lot of physical comedy bits, some work, some miss, but he didn't drag on the movie like he has in other Sandler films.
I give it 2.5 stars, or a grade of C+.
