My first Tyler Perry movie. I actually turned to an usher at the end, asked him whether he had seen other Perry movies before, and commented that man that was a downer. I don't know what to think about the movie. I didn't like it or hate it, I'm still trying to figure it out.

I started a thread here about Tyler Perry once, basically to ask if anyone had seen his films and what they had to say about him. Most responses, as I recall, were from people who had no intention of seeing any of his films. I keep meaning to see one, hopefully on opening night so I can gauge the nature of the audience reaction, but I never manage to get off my butt to do so.

I've seen plenty of his flicks. Some I like, some I don't. But I like more than I don't which is why I keep renting them.

So it's a remake of Unfaithful (which itself was a remake)?

I meant to add that the reason I wanted to see at least one Tyler Perry film was because of his historical significance as the most successful black filmmaker in history.
