Well to be fair 'The Thing' was a remake. Nothing can be worse than the 'The Fog' remake. Pinch me when they announce the "Dark Star' remake.

He didn't ruin it, that was FoX's fault, it probably will be rated R if its coming from New Line.

Remakes are lame. I don't mind a new Snake, but EFNY has already been made. Why not Escape from DC ... Escape from Planet Earth ... Escape from New Line Cinema?

Well, I had already resigned myself to the fact that this was going to suck. Now it's confirmed. Wiseman did a decent enough job onthe Underworld flicks, and I haven't seen Die Hard yet, but I don't see him successfully pulling off this remake. Hell, no one, not even Carpenter himself, could possibly improve upon what already is.

Hauk: You go in, find the President, bring him out in less than 24 hours, and your're a free man.

Snake: Bullshit!

Hauk: I'm making you an offer.

Snake: Get a new president.

Hauk: Is that your answer?

Snake: I'm thinking about it.

Hauk: Think hard. We're still at war. We need him alive.

Plissken: I don't give a shuck about your war... or your president.

Escape from New York is one of my favorite films of all time and I will gladly see a remake. I don't know about Wisemen directing but I'm not going to shoot it down. If this is a good movie then great, if not, oh well. The original will still be the great movie it is after this remake gets released.

I am anticipating this one.

If it's good it's good; I'm not one who really thinks that a bad remake in anyway taints the original. That isn't to say I think this will turn out well: I have no opinion at this point.

you didn't miss anything, Die Hard largely sucked. Even an R-rated version I don't think would help it. This remake will suck like the vast majority of them. As for it not affect how people think about the original, you guys are correct, people just quit thinking about the original.

I take it there will be no Indians throwing Snake's plane from the top of the World Trade Center.

Maybe Wiseman should try talking his wife into starring in this movie. I will watch anything with Kate Beckinsale in it.
