That BAFTA win was important for Waltz. I'm glad I went with him as that was one of the toughest categories to choose.

The crowd has been slow to receive every joke so far. Talk about a tightly wound group!

Good for Waltz. Slightly surprised but won't argue with the choice.

Waltz's shock when he won was great

Tarantino has no pressure on him if he writes another role for him

A German casting director during IB. Waltz's Charlie Rose interview from around then is really good.

This Rudd/McCarthy bit sucks.

What are Rudd and McCarthy trying to pull?

I think the fact that last year's Best Actor is French and is presenting Best Actress means Riva will win it.

Trying to do some crap about how actors immerse themselves in voice acting.

Good for Brave.

Well, it was better than Frankenweenie, Paranorman, and Wreck-it Ralph. Didn't see Pirates.

Sweet. I chose Brave. 2/3, which isn't bad considering one of the shorts was already given out.

Re: The 85th Annual Academy Awards (2013 Discussion)

OK I'm as big a Pixar geek as they come, and I really liked 'Brave' a lot, but 'Wreck-It Ralph' kicked its animated butt, handily. I haven't seen Paranorman, and Frankenweenie was shit.

It's obviously all opinion, I wasn't a fan of Wreck-it Ralph when it went pure Sugar Rush. Oddly enough I usually don't like Pixar.

Undeserved win, in my book. And yeah, I did like Brave well enough.

Brave got shat on for its small scale story, but it was still pretty good. Still haven't seen Pirates though.

Life of Pi will clean up for visuals.

Ah Gee Wow. This guy might need some laxatives.

That's three genuine reaction wins.
