Hitman: Agent 47 -- D: Aleksander Bach, S: Rupert Friend (2015)
http://www.deadline.com/2013/02/fox-...ssin-agent-47/
EXCLUSIVE: Fox International Productions is rebooting Hitman, the live action film adaptation of the hit Square Enix video game. They’ve set The Fast And The Furious‘s Paul Walker to star in Agent 47, an action film that was written by A Good Day To Die Hard‘s Skip Woods and Michael Finch and will be directed by Aleksander Bach, a highly regarded commercials director making his feature helming debut.
This gives a new start to Hitman, which was turned into a 2007 film that starred Timothy Olyphant as the genetically engineered elite assassin with the barcode tattooed on the back of his head. Woods wrote that movie, which wasn’t a rave with the critics, but grossed $100 million worldwide. The new film, with Walker playing the lethal protagonist, will shoot in Berlin and Singapore this summer after Walker completes a global press tour for Fast And Furious 6. Walker will shave his head and make this his first big film after Fast 6, whose trailer has been generating 20,000 tweets an hour since it debuted during Sunday’s Super Bowl. Production on the film begins in June.
FIP, led by Sanford Panitch, sees this as a potential gold mine both in the U.S. but especially in the overseas marketplace, where the video game has moved over 20 million units and where Walker has done very well with Universal’s race car franchise and films like Eight Below. Agent 47 will be produced by Chuck Gordon, Alex Young, and Adrian Askarieh. Daniel Alter will be exec producer. 20th Century Fox will distribute in the US and worldwide.
UTA and Luber Roklin Entertainment rep Walker. Finch and Bach are repped by Verve.

I like the game, but I hated the original movie with Timothy Olyphant.
Not sure what to think with Walker playing the role now. He just doesn't seem badass enough to play him.

Never cared for Paul Walker. He's a 2nd-3rd rate Keanu Reeves. Walker's only great role has ever been in Running Scared. That's a badass flick.

You know what would be the best decision? Hire David Bateson, the actual voice and likeness of Agent 47 (has acting experience besides voice work too).
If anything, they should have gotten a guy in his mid 40's or later. This is the 2nd time they are miscasting 47.

this role was tailor made for Bruce Willis or Jason Statham. Paul Walker is shit. Timothy Olyphant, in this role, was shit.

I'd heard of that show but have never seen it. I don't even know what channel it was on.

I listened to a podcast the other day where Olyphant basically said he did the first Hitman because he just bought a house and Deadwood was surprisingly cancelled. He knows it was shit.
I don't really care about Walker's acting ability. This movie should be all about the kills and the action, so he could do just fine as a stoic badass who doesn't talk much.

Paul Walker hasn't really impressed me in anything he's done but good for him for continuously getting work in Hollywood.

I just learned that Skip Woods wrote the original film and he's also writing the reboot. No hope for this now.

“Homeland” star Rupert Friend has come on board to replace Paul Walker in Fox International productions pic “Agent 47.”
Aleksander Bach will direct from a script by Skip Woods and Michael Finch.
Plot details are unknown but the film is a sequel to the 2007 “Hitman” movie starring Timothy Olyphant that was based off the Square Enix video game.
Chuck Gordon, Alex Young, and Adrian Askarieh will produce with 20th Century Fox distributing. Daniel Alter will be exec producer.
Friend is repped by CAA and Authentic Talent and Literature.

Re: Agent 47 (Hitman reboot) -- D: Aleksander Bach, S: Rupert Friend (201?)
He's awesome as Quinn on Homeland, and I want to give him the benefit of the doubt, but....this doesn't look like another good casting decision. Timothy Olyphant is a great actor but was miscast as 47 in the first movie.
Still no hope this turns out to be anything other than straight to DVD garbage.

He's awesome on Homeland. I might actually see this movie just because of him.
