Not me.... I went to the theater to see Grindhouse. Had a great time as well.

It'll never happen, but we also enjoy going to the drive-in and watching 3 first-run movies for less than 5 bucks a person, along with cheap concessions and tons of our own food.

Yeah, I saw Grindhouse 3 times during it's theatrical run and I even have a large framed poster of the film. I did my part.
Regardless of what rating or when it was released, the final nail in the double header coffin is the fact that it bombed. Studios will use that data and see that they're not a money making venture anymore. If they ever were.

It will never happen today. The old double feature movies were 65 or 75 minutes long. This year's top five movies lasted 130 to 170 minutes. They are as long as double features all by themselves.

There was a "Twilight" marathon at some local theaters when the last one was released, although I called it "five movies and zero plot, all in one day."

I'm seriously considering the Die Hard marathon tomorrow. Great thread, makes me wish I was older and saw a lot movies 'back in the day'.
