Battlers are seperated and QuiGon continues the battle vs Maul . Qui Gon dies and there is enough of a break for ObiWan to meditate while Maul stalks the pit room waiting for the battle to resume.


Remember this is sheep so the answers dictate how close they are to one another

Qui Gon meditates when he and Maul (and Obi) are separated. Obi watches him die and they stare at each other for a few seconds before they can resume the fight. There's no meditation on Obi Wan's part.

The way you describe it there would be four separate duels: Obi-QGJ-DM, QGJ-DM, QGJ-DM (after separation), and Obi-DM.

Reminds me of playing Trivial Pursuit in the '80s. The question was, "Name the captain of the Starship Enterprise." My friend wondered if the answer might be Pike instead of Kirk. The answer on the back of the card stated "Kirk" and obviously was the answer commonly provided.

If someone talked about the lightsaber battle in TPM do you really think they were referring to the skirmish between Qui-Gon Jinn and Darth Maul, etc.?
