I enjoyed the movie as entertainment. Hanks did a fantastic job in the role.
As for the controversy about how accurate it is, I figure the truth is somewhere between the movie and the articles post in the thread. I always take with a pound of salt, (I know the phrase is grain but in this case it is a pound), anything said by individuals that have 50 million reasons to not been too honest.

I know the Hollywoodized the movie, but my wife and I were on the edge of our seat for about 1/2 the movie.
Tom H did a great job, he is one of the best actors (if not the best) over the past 25 years or so.

I liked the film, once it got going its pace made a 134 min film feel like nothing. The tension just ramps up all the way to the end. My only problem was that for the first half of the film, I'm watching Tom Hanks... but the back half once they are in the rescue pod, I don't see him, I see Captain Phillips.

Director Greengrass deserves to be given credit for maintaining tension throughout this drama about the four-day siege. He also draws out a strong performance from Tom Hanks as a man who possesses the right stuff for survival.
