But where's the fun (and benefit) in that

Actually Nolan's previous films were co-productions between Warner and Legendary so this isn't a change, it's just two major studios now instead of one. Curious why Legendary bowed out.

Edit: Oh Legendary already has two big pics lined up for 2014, that'd be why.

Interesting that Legendary is out. One would expect they'd want a Nolan film regardless of what they had going on.

I like that we now have a release date, yet no mention of actors involved.

I think it might be time to have a Joseph Gordon-Levitt main character, Christopher Nolan movie.

But it would be just as deserving to have this be a Tom Hardy main character, Christopher Nolan movie.

I would be very happy with either or both.

Take a break this time from Bale. No offense to him. I would just like to see someone other than himself or Leo to lead the next movie.

Also, please bring back Bowie in a supporting role......

I approve of what you say. I've loved the use of Bale in his films, his Batman trilogy and The Prestige, but...I'd like to someone else take the lead more often. Granted...he had to keep Bale as the lead for the Batman films. But a Hardy or JGL lead movie by Nolan would rock. DiCaprio would be a standard lead choice, predictable. And Bowie is always awesome. Fuck...The Prestige was all kinds of awesome. It's so fucked up at it's core.

I'd want Guy Pearce again though. A leading role for him is always very special. He rocks the hell out of the supporting but goddamn it does he do so much good when he's the lead.

I always wonder though if I want more Caine or not in Nolan films. I love Caine though...so...it can't hurt to have more of him in these Nolan films. Wouldn't mind him to have a more...active role though, like in The Prestige.

Either way...I'm gung ho to see wtf he does now.

If it's they already know it's going to be in IMAX before shooting anything, we know it will have some spectacle.

I forgot about IMAX. Nolan really loves IMAX. Soooooo technically speaking...how much more does shooting a film in IMAX cost? Let's say a film that's 2 1/2 hours?

Talking about IMAX did they ever get to the point where it was totally quiet or just slightly quieter than the ones they had on TDK?

Nolan has supposedly offered the lead to Matthew McConaughey...

Now lets all scream together "Why McConaughey!" for two consecutive years until we watch the movie and start praising the casting instead

McConaughey can be an excellent actor with the right material. His recent performance in Killer Joe was amazing. I just think it's unusual to imagine him in a Nolan film, who has such a dry style and typically uses the same actors for his films.

I think McConaughey has been on fire recently but it's very hard to picture him in a Nolan film...about space travel. I guess in Nolan we trust.

"Hey, you got a warp drive on this ship?"

"No."

"It'd be a lot cooler if you did."

Agreed. I think Killer Joe is his best performance to date.

This is already the third greatest film of all time behind The Dark Knight and Inception.

Agree to disagree. Killer Joe followed by his supporting turn in Bernie.

He was very good in Frailty though.

The Nolan criticisms either don't make sense or make me laugh. This one did both, what the hell is dry about his style? Are you talking about his personality or his movies?

McConaughey has been on a fucking tear recently, and between Killer Joe, Magic Mike, and Bernie he's suddenly become one of those actors whose presence in a film will make me want to see it, which is funny since he used to be one whose presence in a film would make me avoid it.

Ah yes, Nolan is perfect, therefore any criticism of his work doesn't make sense or is laughable.

Ah yes, how could I forget the number one internet rule: you aren't allowed to like or even think Nolan is halfway decent. or say anything except he's overrated. Shame on me.
LOL. Where did I say he was perfect? I'll answer for you: NEVER.

Let me know when your head stops hurting because his movies are so 'difficult' for you. I think I need to bring out that Shawshank pic again. Those goddamn cats climbing up trees.
