The Brass Teapot (2012)
I was pleasantly surprised by this one. Not amazing, but I still thought it was a pretty funny film.

The Place Beyond The Pines
Utterly fantastic. I had high hopes going in given the casting, score by Mike Patton, and small town setting (I love small town films) and this did not disappoint. Gosling's performance is full of deadly hubris and apoplectic anger. Dude is killing it in 2013 between this and Only God Forgives. Bradley Cooper delivers his best work in... ever? Maybe. Lots of good actors pop up in supporting roles. Patton's score is phenomenal and haunting. It sets a tone that carries throughout. I only wish I caught it in theaters, but it's one of the best blind buys I've made in a while.

Hatchet III - Yeah, so that happened. If not for Danielle Harris, who I have a crush on, this would've been a complete waste of time.

We Are the Night - 2.5/5
Four German female vampires indulge in the nightlife of sex, drugs and blood. Too much style over substance weakens the film.

The Beaver - 2.5/5
A man makes an inanimate character real as a means of coping with his mental illness.
A dark film under the surface that could have been great if it would not have been sugar coated with typical Hollywood formulas.

I LOVE this flick! Did you watch the German version with English subtitles? I wish they would put out a decent Blu-ray release. The only one I know of is the German version but it's got forced subtitles. I have the DVD.

Planes 3d - 4/5. If you've seen Cars (who hasn't?) it's a bit of a bump to get past the 'This feels a lot like Cars" thing. It's till very pretty to look at, there are more supporting side characters that have a bit more involvement in the story, which is good. My son (10) loved it, and I liked it, that's good enough for me. (Although I think I actually liked Turbo a bit better).

The Call This movie was bad on so many levels. For starters everyone is totally incompetent which is the only reason the story moves forward. After that it goes further down hill 2/5 at best

Rise of the Guardians - Not a bad little flick. Jude Law as a villain was inspired. Jackman as an Aussie Easter Bunny was also great. Loved Jack Frost's character design but I can't decide if I liked Chris Pine for the role or not.

Re: Last movie you watched
I watched it with the German soundtrack and English subtitles. It could have been better if it went into the background of all the vampires (not just one) instead it chose to focus on the superficial like how cool they were and that really killed it for me.
