Blue Movie - 2.5/5
After escaping a sexual assult a woman is rescued by a photographer. The photographer then keeps her imprisoned in his apartment while he engages in weird rituals with his models that border on the perverse. Strange, disturbing film that is told in a fractured narrative and feels dreamlike. I liked the first half but thought it fell apart in the second half when it tries too hard to be shocking.

Femme Fatale - 4/5
A woman goes on the run after double crossing her partners in a jewelry heist. She teams up with a photographer who may be able to help her, but after what happened can she be trusted. One of Brian De Palma's better films.

Jungle Holocaust (1977)
I love how incredible random the final 40 minutes of the film are. Not a bad thing as the first 90 aren't very interesting.

To all the critics who dismissed John Carter but gave Revenge of the Sith a pass:

Diary of a Chambermaid - 5/5
A French chambermaid from the big city is hired to work in a country estate by an upper-class dysfunctional family.
Her interactions with the various characters show us the reasons for the rise of French facism. An underrated Buñuel masterpiece.

Waterworld- Apparently the most expensive movie ever made at the time of its release and met with toxic buzz because of it's troubled production, Kevin Costner's gigantic ego-project was a giant logistical nightmare. Sadly, that's much more interesting than most of what's on screen, a sometimes well-designed but mostly dull, severely underwritten knockoff of George Miller's classic Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior, an infinitely better film which cost a fraction of the psychotic budget. Costner's uncharismatic anti-hero is a borderline rapist who's intent on killing children before becoming cute and cuddly in the third act, and goes from unsympathetic to sentimental. Dennis Hopper has fun hamming it up as the leader of a gang of pirates, some of the production design ands special effects are occasionally interesting, but most of the frantic action sequences are too frenetic and lack the raw exhilaration of Miller or the machine precision of Cameron, and the script is paper-thin B-movie stuff that can't sustain the film's bloated running time. Interesting as an historical curio, and with a few interesting elements, but mostly a misfire. The Blu-ray has no extras, which is a shame, as a documentary about the film's production would likely me fascinating, but I'm sure that the studio and Costner would rather that the less we know about that, the better.

The Silence of the Lambs - 5/5
The FBI sends an agent in training on a special assignment to the Baltimore State Hospital for the Criminally Insane. Her mission is to interview a brilliant serial killer who may hold the key to a series of recent murders. One of the best thrillers of all time with amazing performances from Jodie Foster & Anthony Hopkins.

Not to sound like a dick, but I don't think anyone here needs a plot synopsis for something as well known as The Silence of the Lambs.
I agree with your opinion, the movie never gets old.

Pinochet's Last Stand - 2.5/5
Fascist Chilean dictator is held under house arrest while on vacation in England. British law must decided whether or not to extradite him to Spain and face charges for atrocities. Interesting story that would make a fascinating film if it would have had a higher budget and a longer running time.

Aired on Showtime Extreme last week. Low budget straight to video movie with Richard Burgi from Desperate Housewives and 24 as the lead.
Entertaining, but forgettable cop thriller. Strangely it left things open for a sequel.

Chasing Amy- Son of a bitch, he can write! Third time's the charm for Kevin Smith, who hits one out of the park with this witty portrait of a man who falls in love with a lesbian, only to discover that he can't deal with her altogether varied sexual past. Though it occasionally slips onto the director's usual juvenilia, the film is by and large a mature affair, both functioning as a part of the 90s independent film scene which shone the light on some subcultures and as a prescient look at the increasingly fragmented "hook up culture" future. Affleck is surprisingly sensitive in the central role, and Smith handles the whole thing with a blend of vulgarity an surprising sensitivity, shining a clear on the foibles of relationships and insecurity. Though this makes the film sometimes uncomfortable, so much so that I can't see myself revisiting it any time soon, it's in a good way, bring about both genuine interest and a touch of pathos, as well as a look at the messiness and difficulty of relationship and self-awareness. Though Smith is hardly a visual-minded filmmaker, his capturing of the aforementioned subcultures' milieu and some long takes for his much sharper than usual dialogue work well. Shot on wonderfully grainy Super 16. A gem, and a classic from a great era of indie filmmaking.

S21 : The Khmer Rouge Killing Machine - 3.5/5
Former guards and surviving prisoners from a Cambodian death camp called S21 (where 17,000 were killed) explain their experiences in disturbing detail.
A good documentary that could have been better with some more back story on the history of the events that lead to the rise of Pol Pot and his minions.

Frenzy - 4.5/5
Alfred Hitchcock's penultimate film set in England, tells the tale of a nasty serial killer who rapes his female victims and then strangles them with a necktie. When a man's ex-wife turns up dead, he becomes the prime suspect in the murders. Is he guilty or just a victim of circumstance? The master of suspense's last great film.

Seagal, although prominent, almost takes a backseat to one of the guys from the Syfy show Continuum. Average actioner with a little eye candy mixed in. Like a lot of Seagal DTV efforts, he has to save a kidnapped girl. Tzi Ma plays an Asian arms dealer that Seagal has been in pursuit of after a failed military coup in which he was leading a mission on. Seagal does some of his own stunts, but a body double is obvious for most of the scenes. Not terrible, not great.
