Surpised no acting noms for Django. Based on the previews, was sort of expecting Leo's name to be included.

Surprised to see Black get some love for Bernie. Did it get any decent theatrical release? It was his best work in years, maybe ever (aside from D stuff).

Lots of love for Django. It also picked up a Screenplay nomination.

I don't think so. It was at my local independent movie theater for a bit and it was gone quick.

There's no "Academy" involved with the Golden Globes.

Re: Golden Globes Nominations Discussion Thread (2013 Movie Edition)

Pretty decent picks if you ask me. Argo and Lincoln are two of the best I saw this year so to me they're worthy of their nominations. Haven't seen Life of Pi yet and obviously haven't seen Django but they both look like great movies. The only one I really have no interest in is Zero Dark Thirty.

Do you think any of the HFP watched the film? They probably looked at the cast list, the title and the tomatometer and said "that'll do to get Ewen to show up."

I couldn't even get through this one. Too bad. Also, think Robert De Niro was robbed for Silver Linings.

Original score nominees are poor this year, if nothing else.

Re: Golden Globes Nominations Discussion Thread (2013 Movie Edition)

Alexandre Desplat's soundtrack for 'Moonrise Kingdom' was the best of the year IMO.
