UPDATE 10/15: We’ve heard from multiple sources that here’s what’s happening with Star Wars: The Force Awakens this weekend.
First, we’ll get to see the official one sheet on Sunday morning.
Second, the trailer will debut Monday night, roughly around 8pm EST.
Third, tickets will go on sale very soon after that, likely around 8:30pm EST. They should be available at most, if not all, ticketing sites and theaters.
Original 10/14 article, which now has some of its grey areas clarified, follows:
If you want to be among the first to see Star Wars: The Force Awakens, be on your computer Friday. Screencrush reports, and we can confirm, that theaters around the country have been contacted by Disney to prepare to sell advanced tickets for the film this Friday, October 16.
There’s no specific time yet revealed when they’ll go on sale, but it may be noon EST. Or it could be Monday. They just have to be ready by Friday.
When tickets do go on sale, they’ll be for screenings of the film starting at 7pm on December 17 through January 3. In addition, you’ll be able to get a tickets for a seven movie marathon, from The Phantom Menace to The Force Awakens, which will start at 4am and conclude with a 7pm screening. The movie then runs 136 minutes.
Oh, and rumor has it, Disney will celebrate ticket sales even bigger on Monday the 19th, by premiering a new, final trailer for the film during Monday Night Football on ESPN.
Expect official confirmation from StarWars.com soon, and the trailer right here as soon as it’s live.

136 minutes. I think that's the first I've heard the confirmed run time.
Star Wars--121 min
Empire-----124 min
Jedi---------131 min
Phantom---133 min
Clones-----142 min
Sith--------140 min
Glad they're keeping it kind of short. Strange how the two films that feel the most epic are the shortest.

If you had asked me, I would have guessed TPM was the longest, followed by ANH. I'm surprised they are the shortest of each trilogy.

One sheet is out:
Some observations:
- This looks more like photoshop than Drew Struzan to me.
- With the look of that new super weapon, they might as well have called it Death Star III.
- Leia appears to be sporting some serious Amidala hair.
- Could that be Maz Kanata to the left of Artoo?
- Billing order has changed since the cast announcement. The big three come first, then Driver, Ridley and Boyega.
- Michael Arndt still got a screenwriting credit.
