Re: Movie sequels you didn't know existed
Some here may not know that there were 2 sequels to the 1986 Cannon movie "The Delta Force"
Delta Force II: Operation Stranglehold starred Norris. It had very little in common with the 1st movie except Norris returned as McCoy.
Trailer:

Delta Force III was supposed to star Norris again, but he backed out and it instead starred Norris' son Mike and Michael Douglas' half brother Eric. It was a cheap really low budget Direct to Video movie.

I have a local Mom and Pop video store that I have been renting from since 1991. I actually cancelled my Netflix DVD subscription late last year after they started getting all these delays on new titles. I still keep my streaming subscription though.
They get all the new releases and only charge $1.50 per title. Sometimes they put titles out up to 1 month before their street date.
Back in the VHS days they only charged 92 cents to rent. I hung out there alot on weekends and knew alot about direct to video movies and these cheap sequels.

I didn't know till a few years ago that there was a third Iron Eagle theatrical release. And a few minutes ago, looking up info for this thread, discovered there was a fourth: Iron Eagle on the Attack. But that was direct-to-video.
Never say die ... Iron Eagle. Maybe that's what the song meant.

It wasn't an error. They just claimed in Part IV that, although the lead of part 2 saw him shot down, Doug Masters crash landed and became a POW in I don't remember where.

Watching a marathon of sequels to Children of The Corn on This TV at the moment. It is the same idea recycled over and over ad nausem.

I actually saw Popeye Doyle back in 1986 when it aired as a NBC Movie of the Week. Don't recall anything about it other than Ed O'Neill was playing the same character that Gene Hackman played in The French Connection.

Wasn't it that Roy Scheider's character in The Seven-Ups was written to be similar to his character from The French Connection without actually being the same character?

^ It was always said to be the unofficial sequel to French Connection. I always like to believe it is.
The Popeye Dolye opening credits are pretty cool, white letters over black, same font as FC with great opening theme... right now I can't remember if its rework of FC theme or not...
The rest is pretty forgettable...
