Wow, the original is already obscure enough as it is.

I found this list most of the sequels most I know about but "Scanner Cop" is interesting.

Wow, how hard up was Gary Cole to appear in that?

I was surprised when I ran across WarGames: The Dead Code on SHO a year or so ago.

I saw it...IN THE THEATHER actually. It's not very good however I had not seen the Last Picture Show at that time. I'd like to see it again for comparison. The odd decision that Bogdonavich made is that Shepard and Bridges have almost no scenes together.

Another major theatrical release. Larry McMurtry wrote novel Last Picture Show. Texasville was his follow up novel. Big NY Times bestseller. I was on the waiting list at library for two months to read it. Although the book and movie both sucked, this was a highly anticipated, much publicized theatrical release. This wasn't long after Lonesome Dove mini-series was huge success and anything McMurtry was hot.

Joy Ride 2 is surprisingly probably one of the best Direct to DVD sequels out there.

Yeah! Fuck that **** Shelley Long who was also in all three with Gary Cole.

... and I actually believe Shock Treatment is better than The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

There's no smilies with that one as that's actually a serious statement.

That Brady Bunch cover raises more questions than it answers.

That Brady bunch movie (which I own on DVD) is horrible... But does have Autumn Reeser in it...

Roadhouse 2 was pretty bad too... Can't really think of any movie discussed here that isn't pretty bad... At least ones I've seen

I remember seeing it (it was a TV movie, right?) but didn't remember that Autumn Reeser was in it.

I'm a big Shock Treatment fan and the RO music/songs are first rate.

Re: Movie sequels you didn't know existed

Apparently this is a sort-of sequel to Walter Hill's Streets of Fire. Michael Pare plays a character named Cody and Deborah Van Valkenburgh plays "Sister" (which I'm assuming is based on Reva Cody from SOF). Also, as the poster suggests, it features music from Jim Steinman. Not sure if the "Ellen" referenced on the poster is Ellen Aim or not.

Reviews don't seem to be half bad either. Anyone seen this??

I refuse to check, but I'd be willing to guess that Buttmunker has started a thread attempting to answer some of these questions.

The first time I saw The Rocky Horror Picture Show was on Fox when I was nine and instantly fell in love with it. It's a surprise I'm not gay. Anyway, I actually discovered Shock Treatment existed shortly thereafter due to this book that my grandparents owned. I actually found a video store that carried it to rent a few years later. A few months later, my grandparents special ordered the VHS and soundtrack from Suncoast and Virgin for me.

There's things I like in both films, but I love the tone of Shock Treatment more. It's a lot more fun despite the film aiming (and mostly failing) at being socially relevant.

It's one of those interesting failures that you can't help but love.

And it hates Mexicans more than the Romney campaign.

Re: Movie sequels you didn't know existed

Would this thread be more interesting if we restricted it to theatrically-released sequels, and excluded the dreck of direct-to-video sequels and spoof or rip-off (e.g. Asylum-type crap) sequels?

I've been waiting for this to debut on DVD. If STREETS OF FIRE ever comes to Blu-ray, they can throw in this sequel as a bonus.

I actually own this movie. Its the only movie I have in my entire collection that I own because of irony. It's so bad that its actually really funny. Jake Busey is great in this. So funny. I think he realized what a piece of shit it was going to be and just went for it. Some of his scenes are genuinely hilarious.

Did you really not know these existed or are you just pointing out sequels that people in this forum may not know about.

I've seen 4 of those movies and anyone who hangs out at a video store regularly would probably know about them or any Direct to video sequel.

I'm a time traveler from the year 2012. What is this "video store" you speak of?
