I was mildly curious about Hotel Transylvania because it looked like Mad Monster Party V.2, but every review I've read has said it's horrendously bad.

Because Looper came out, that's why I'm skipping Dredd this weekend.
Dredd is #11 with $675k, down 70%

I've seen it 3 times! In 3D! Not even TDKR or The Avengers could get me to do that. Pricing be damned...Dredd deserves my money.
Also...Great fucking title to this thread. The goddamn truth right there.

I expect Frankenweenie to be #1 next weekend. I'll see Dredd at the 1.50 movie in a week when its there why pays $8 to see it when I can wait a week or two and see it super cheap and in 3D.

That looks like a good opening for Looper.

So...a movie with 92% fresh rating comes in at #2 while one that is mostly rotten but family friendly gets # 1 by a substantial margin. Crap shall always be king.

lol, Dredd had a terrible marketing campaign, so no surprise it bombed. I thought it would be utter shit right up until the reviews started coming, and at this point I'll just wait for the Blu-ray.
Disappointed Looper isn't doing better.

They should've put Rob Schneider in it.
But seriously I wonder which version did better out of the two bombs the Stallone version or the new remake/reboot/whatever.

Dredd, stateside will probably clear 10 million, which is a GODDAMN SHAME.
Judge Dredd was a bomb due to the budget being twice as much as much as what Dredd was:
http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=judgedredd.htm
Stallone's version made more money than Dredd, but Stallone's version also cost 90 million to make.
Worldwide total was about 113 million for Stallone's.

I'm surprised by the lack of support from DVDTalkers as well. Especially considering all the bitching & moaning in the threads for remakes (to R rated originals) being watered down to a PG-13. Dredd delivers hard R violence in spades. Plus it's a damn good movie to boot. Such a shame this bombed.
