Re: Entourage: The Movie (2015, Ellin) S: Piven, Grenier, Connolly, Dillon, Ferrara

I saw it 3 weeks ago. I'll post my review when the embargo is lifted.

On a side note, Kevin Dillon gets his hair done at my shop. I've been hearing about this thing from him since he read the script.
Every time I saw him, it'd be in a new phase.

" Script is good " then
" Just waiting for everyone to get on board " then
" We're filming it " then
" We finished it " then
" I saw it at Doug's house "

This was actually my favorite TV show ever until the last two seasons. This looks like a return to form. I'll be watching.

I wonder if Rousy plays Turtle's love interest ? If it's anything like the show she'll be the "out of his league" GF.

The last time we saw Ari Gold, he had retired from Hollywood and moved to Italy. This is the story of how he came back.

That's good to hear.

I've had some time on my hands and have been burning through a rewatch of the series. I just made it to the point, in my opinion, where they should've ended the series. The season 6 finale. Season 7 and 8 were pretty shitty.

Yup. Especially Season 8. They were totally phoning it in -- there weren't even really jokes any more. Glad to hear the movie's good. I'm kind of looking forward to it.

It pisses me off because the series finale basically ended the same way season 6 did, except in a way more rushed fashion. It's like they knew they fucked it up.

That's why I'm hoping the movie will feel like it's more closure. I really didn't like how the series abruptly ended like that.

Only issue I had with the last couple seasons was Vince on drugs. I didn't buy it, and it was such a dark story to attempt for such a light hearted show.

The Vince on drugs thing I thought was totally believable. Remember, he didn't start his downward path until hanging out with the Scott Cann character when all his friends were busy with their own stuff. Seemed totally natural to me.

The thing I HATED was when they bumped up Ally Musika to Executive Producer in Season Six and all of a sudden the boys became more and more pussy whipped. I'm currently rewatching the entire show, and it's VERY apparent in Season 07 (Turtle is basically a whining puppy with that Mexican bitch, begging her the entire season to sleep with him). And then from what I remember of Season 08, ending with Vince falling in love and getting married over the final two episodes? She had to be fucking someone on the show to be kept on as a writer.

Thankfully that skank had NOTHING to do with the movie.

Matto1020, your post would be a bit less cringe worthy if you did not refer to one of the writers on the show and an actress as a skank and a bitch. I can picture you wearing your favorite wife-beater as you typed out your post. A lot of anger over a fictional cable show.

I'd really like to see this one, but I'll end up waiting for a home release.

Mexican bitch and skank. I guess her ethnicity matters when you're bitching about her too?

Ha! Well for one, she (the "love" interest for Turtle) was Mexican, and two, the way she was written on the show constantly teasing Turtle, was very bitchy. Hence, Mexican bitch. No different than if you were to say that British bitch or Australian bitch. She was a terrible character that totally changed the behavior of one of the main characters. At least Jamie Lynn Sigler was written in a much more natural way.

And it' well known that Musika had a big part in why the last few seasons are considered some of the worst. You're right, maybe skank wasn't the appropriate term... maybe we just say hack instead.

I do remember that terrible Turtle plot line : He was too freaked out to have sex with her when he found out she shaved down there. Apparently the last time he saw a naked lady was the 1980s.

Haha, yeah that was odd. I would think in Hollywood there wouldn't be a single female pubic hair to be found (Especially at the time of the episode).

the last season really did feel like they took the whole "sex in the city for men" literally and just got a sex in the city writer to pussify the whole damn concept.

Also, if this movie tries shoving down our throats that god damn churchkey beer like they did that Avion tequila, I may just go Dark Knight all up in the movie theater. But hey, maybe I should expect an Entourage movie to be all about product placement.

The movie is like watching a great episode, that happens to be 2 hours long, with more money and cameos involved. They didn't change the flow, music or feeling of the great seasons. No darkness or Vince doing hard drugs. Haley Joel Osment is the heavy in the movie ( that tells you how dark it gets ) It was a great time. If love the show, you'll love the movie, plain and simple.

I've never seen an episode.. I KIND OF want to see the movie. I don't care if I don't understand previous bs of the series... I do wonder if it can stand on its own.

The show was a guilty pleasure for me. I would never admit I watched it to anyone. And I won't admit it when I watch this movie the day I rent it at Redbox.

This is one that I feel probably can't stand on its own. Being unfamiliar with the characters and the show can't possibly make this an easy viewing for anyone.

On the HBO First Look they claimed that non-viewers can jump right in. But what else are they gonna say on a First Look? There's probably Viking Quest, Queens Blvd and other references all over the place.

Why? Who the fuck cares if you like it or not?
