Real upset with this... True Romance is one of my all time favorites. The Last Boy Scout is one of my favorite Willis movies. He directed a lot of great blockbuster flicks. I would imagine it was health issues that drove him to this?

I read this story earlier, so this feels like deja vu. I wonder why he did this? It wasn't like he was an enemy of the state. I wasn't what you would call a fan of his work, but his career was seemingly unstoppable. Perhaps this was like a domino falling, a sort of hunger for revenge from a true romance gone wrong. He was certainly commercially viable, a top gun in his field. His days of thunder in hollywood made him seem like a man on fire. I understand that aside from being a movie director he yearned to be a Beverly Hills cop too.
RIP Antonio Scott.

People that age usually commit suicide for one reason: terminal disease. They rather end it fast than die slow and painful. Thing is, they don't do it like that. He had the wherewithall to just buy a bunch of sleeping pills and OD at home. So, maybe I'm wrong... but I suspect he chose to end it rather than die slow.

Apparently his suicide note was in his office, not car.
I'm shocked by this news. Came out of nowhere. The only thing that I think would push someone to take their own life without being mentally ill is some terminal illness.

I know my words aren't going to have any effect on most here, but it really needs to be pointed out that being completely overwhelmed by depression =/= being an asshole, nor does it equate to being a selfish bastard. Depression messes up your thought processes pretty badly, and getting "help," unfortunately, doesn't always solve the problem.
Most people don't do this sort of thing because they're having a bad day, nor do they do it if they think that there's another way out of their problems.
