Alfred Hitchcock's immortal THE BIRDS will hit theaters on SEPTEMBER 19th. Turner Classic Movies Host Robert Osborne will introduce “Alfred Hitchcock’s The Birds” and share with you an exclusive interview he conducted with the film’s star Tippi Hedren specifically for this special presentation. Hedren will not only reveal how “Hitch” hand-picked her to play the part of Melanie Daniels but also how the movie that launched her career -- ended it. Osborne will even reach deep into the TCM Archives to share more on set stories from Hedren’s co-stars: Rod Taylor and Suzanne Pleshette.
Then, just in time for Halloween, NCM Fathom Events, Turner Classic Movies and Universal Pictures will present a Halloween Double Feature in movie theaters nationwide on Wednesday, October 24th in celebration of Universal’s 100th Anniversary. Don’t miss seeing Boris Karloff on the big screen as the original FRANKENSTEIN (1931) followed by Karloff and Elsa Lanchester in BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN (1935).
The event will begin with TCM Host Robert Osborne as he treats audiences to exclusive interviews conducted at this year’s TCM Classic Film Festival. Joining him will be Karloff’s daughter, Sara Karloff along with Bela Lugosi, Jr. the son of the classic “Dracula” star and Academy Award® winning make-up artist, Rick Baker. All three will talk about classic horror movies, how legendary icons like Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi helped define the genre and how today’s horror films measure up to the classics.

It says four films, but only three are listed. What's the fourth film?

I'm assuming it's going to be blown up DVD and not an actual print since it's Fathom?

If it's Fathom, it's most likely a 720p/1080i broadcast with dim color, either live or via DVR. Their past TCM events have all been like this. Pass.

If they are not in 3-D, I'm not going.

I saw The Birds last year in St. Louis with Tippi Hedren onTCM's Road To Hollywood Tour. I'm pretty sure it was 35mm. It looked pretty great.

Road to Hollywood was free, but I haven't a clue what they'd charge to these events.

Sweet, two local theaters near me are participating in this.
Hopefully it won't be bad as some of you are saying.
