I just watched a trailer on Moviepilot with Emma Watson saying it's a zombe invasion but the trailers in this thread show aliens and monsters. So which is it aliens or zombies?

What other film like this is coming out? I don't recall seeing a trailer for anything with a similar premise to this.

I think he's talking about The World's End. I'm not sure what he means by "these actors" though.

The World's End isn't even really that similar in premise though. The titles are kind of close but that's about it.

There's two threads for this film, and the one with the wrong title keeps getting bumped.

I'm going to assume this is the real thread. Anyway, I got back from an advance screening tonight. Reminded me of the dark vibe of Pineapple Express. Took a while to get going until James Franco's party, but it's funny how it gets you rooting for or against certain people. Definitely some nice cameos in the movie. I didn't feel it was a laugh riot, but it was not bad.

Love this cast! Hopes its as memorable and whacky as Pineapple Express. Cant wait to see Emma Watsons role.

Too obvious and not funny.

I think the newest trailer spoils something:

Spoiler:
Jonah Hill being a zombie.

I never thought I would say this, but I thought Michael Cera was the best in this movie. Only had a few lines, but every one of it was comedy gold, Jerry, gold.

re: This is the End (2013, Rogen/Goldberg) S: Rogen, Baruchel, Hill, Franco, McBride

It's being rereleased this weekend.

Sony Pictures said today it is re-releasing the Sony/Columbia raunch comedy in about 2000 theaters beginning Friday. The ensemble comedy about what happens to six pals trapped in a house as the apocalypse begins outside stars James Franco, Jonah Hill, Seth Rogen, Jay Baruchel, Danny McBride, Craig Robinson, Michael Cera and Emma Watson and has grossed $96.8 million to date at the domestic box office since it bowed June 14 opposite Man Of Steel. This Is The End was marketed squarely at a young adult male audience and was situated on the release schedule to counterprogram the Superman pic. “This Is The End really struck a chord with comedy moviegoers this summer”, said Rory Bruer, president of Worldwide Distribution for Sony Pictures, in the release announcing the plans. “For everyone who didn’t get a chance to see it — or saw it and loved it and wants to see it again on the big screen — we are thrilled to have it back in theaters.” Rogen and Evan Goldberg directed their screenplay and produced with James Weave

A lot of re-releases this year with Star Trek and World War Z (double feature) coming back to theaters as well.

DCPs make the rereleases easy - in fact, with This Is The End, we didn't even need a new DCP because we hadn't deleted the movie from our server (look, the keys didn't expire until October and I like watching it). Also, studios like their milestones: both World War Z and Evan Almighty were rereleased to push them over the $200M and $100M mark, respectively. The double feature of World War Z and Star Trek Into Darkness also gave guests discounts on the home video release of Star Trek Into Darkness, so why not?

Re-release, eh? I'm sure the cast/crew are stoked, since they likely have bonuses built into their contracts if this hits $100mm, which it needs under $4mm to do.

i'm assuming this is because of the Franco roast?
