My guess? Star Wars Episode VII is being pushed back to the holiday season, so Ant-Man is being pushed up to summer.

Most people want to see Brainiac, Metallo, Darkseid, Mongul, etc on the big screen, but I would love to see Mxyzptlk.
While I love Mxy, I was never nearly as fond of Bat-Mite. Although Grant Morrison did do some good stuff with Bat-Mite in his recent Batman run.
Those 5th dimension imps are actually some of the most powerful beings in the entire DCU. Seriously.

Personally I'm hoping for a Meteor Man or Steel reboot.

You joke but I really would like to see Death of Superman/Reign of the Supermen adapted into a movie. Cyborg Superman, Eradicator, Steel, and Superboy (Conner Kent not young Kal-El) would make a badass movie if done properly.
Yeah, I know they did an animated adaptation, but the four Supermen were left out entirety. That animated movie was only a very loose adaptation at best.

I did say "some of the most powerful" not "the most powerful." I was also talking more about the main DCU, not including the Vertigo and other imprint universes.
The main problem with Mxyzptlk and other 5th dimension imps is that they are almost always joke characters used as comedic relief. They are hardly ever shown as being serious. One time that their power was used seriously was in the storyarc Emperor Joker. In that story, Joker managed to steal a portion of Mxy's power. Using just a portion of his power, Joker was able to completely alter reality and reshape Earth in his own twisted image. Joker was able to torture and kill Batman and resurrect him the next day to repeat it all over again. All the superheroes were powerless to stop him. Even Spectre couldn't stop him. (Although that was during the time when Hal Jordan was Spectre, and I don't think he was ever quite as powerful as Jim Corrigan as Spectre.) In the end it took Mxy with his remaining power and Spectre both teaming up to stop Joker.
So yeah, if Mxy ever wanted to become a serious threat, there is very little that would actually be able to stop him.
(Also another classic story where Mxy became a serious threat is Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow. That was one of the few times Silver Age Superman ever actually killed anyone because he realized Mxy was just too dangerous to keep him alive.)

Both Death and the second Dream appear in the main DCU. Dream is in the JLA story where Starro attacks the dream world, and Death is in an issue of Action Comics where she talks to Lex Luthor. That was just before they reset the numbering for the New 52. It was issue 894, and Death is even on the cover.

Gone are the days of development hell that used to exist with all of their properties. They've just got their shit together.
DC on the other hand...

Ok, so Pirates 5 has been pushed off of July, not Star Wars. That's probably the reason this was bumped more than anything else. Pirates was pushed back, so they wanted to move something up to release in July. I still think releasing 2 Marvel films and Star Wars in the same summer is crazy, but what do I know? I didn't even know Pirates had been scheduled for summer 2015. Gonna be a crazy summer film season.

I know you're a DC homer, but it's more like Warner Bros. needs to get their heads out of their asses and allow DC to do their own shit much like Marvel. DC needs their own Kevin Feige to tell Rubinov or whoever the hell is in charge of WB now to give them free will to plan out a timeline like Feige and Marvel has and to stick to it.

Sorry... Should've mentioned it... Wright just tweeted it. First Pre-Production photo.

Partly true, but DC Comics has been a mess for several years now, pretty much ever since around 2005 or so.

The reboot with the new 52 should have gotten a lot of them on the same page. And they need one person to oversee a motion picture division. Right now, it's just WB trying to pick and choose what properties to rape for film or tv. You'd think with Geoff Johns, their Chief Creative Officer, would be their version of Kevin Feige, but maybe he's over his head with trying to revamp the comic book side along with Jim Lee.

Wasn't the rumor that WB basically mandated the new 52 reboot? It's definitely ticking off a lot of creators in the comics world.
