Now, maybe a 30-minute 3D movie of her walking, doing jumping jacks in a bikini and/or changing clothes... Yeah, I might pay to see that

This movie won't be the only thing that'll be in 3-D!
P.S.-I mean my boner and semen will also be in 3-D for those that didn't get it.

Saw a screening of it last night - Katy herself "surprised the audience" - got to touch her The movie was really well put together (apparently not 100% finished) with a good 1/3 devoted to her pre-fame struggles, which was interesting. The last 20 minutes have some pretty raw, tough to watch footage where her marriage is crumbling - so kudos to her for not shying away from that stuff. The 3D concert footage is great, but since it's spread out here and there, overall the 3D was very underwhelming. Definitely in the vein of Bieber's flick but highly enjoyable.
Here's a video promo with footage from Katy surprising our theatre:

Are there people who aren't completely tin-eared that actually like her pop "music"?
Because it's seriously fucking awful.
Thankfully her rack doesn't sing.

I got dragged to this last night as my wife's friend is in Katy's band and was hoping to have the chance to see him in 3D. Yeah, I know, they see each other in person and it's like 4D at that point.
The editors deserve an Academy Award for making what might be the most glossed, sugar-coated documentary I've ever witnessed. That doesn't mean it's good by any stretch of the imagination, but the editors did a fantastic job at making Perry an extremely likable person who you sympathize with when everything goes to hell between her and Russell Brand.
The concert footage looks fantastic in 3D and as an "added bonus" you get a post-converted snippet of Grease before the film celebrating Paramount's 100th anniversary.
Katy Perry: Part of Me 3D knows its fluff and runs with it. If you're a Katy Perry fan, it's worth it. If you like Katy Perry's tits, well, be prepared to be disappointed.

Eight other people in a screening at 9:15 Wednesday night.
Overall I liked the film. Sex appeal aside, I do think Perry seems likable and genuine, and makes good bubble-gum pop. Since I don't know that much about her personal life or career other than the two albums I have, I don't know how skewed the film is. I would have liked more concert footage. The 3-D was nice, but not excessively showy or particularly dazzling.
Glad I saw it, but there's not much repeat value since the concert footage is scattered and incomplete. I noticed too late that Amazon is doing the movie-ticket-with-preorder deal, but I probably won't be buying anyway unless they have bonus footage of complete performances--that would be a very smart extra.
