Britt Robertson reminds me of a cuter Jennifer Lawrence.

I'm in a minority who feels MI: GP was a cliche-riddled, ridiculous action vehicle with one implausible set piece after the next. Hunt should have been dead at least a dozen times. It got so monotonous I checked out halfway through. Bird isn't infallible.

I'd agree if MI2 and 3 weren't so boring. At least the over-the-topness of GP brought some fun back into the franchise.

I didn't find M:i-III boring at all. But then I was a huge fan of Alias and the movie was clearly a retooled Alias: The Movie. I did find M:i-2 boring, however. Although I do find it amusing that it feels as if someone hastily rewrote an abandoned script for an aborted Metal Gear Solid movie.

Well the running had a purpose.

Re: Tomorrowland (2015, Bird) S: Clooney, Robertson, Laurie

Apparently the Japanese version of the trailer--which has been taken down--contains major spoilers:

Spoiler:
The trailer starts with actor Thomas Robinson, playing the younger version of George Clooney‘s character Frank. He get on the It’s A Small World ride, likely at the 1964 World’s Fair in New York. (In real life, the ride was later transferred to Disneyland in California.) The ride senses he’s wearing a Tomorrowland pin, and opens up a secret compartment, likely taking him to that world. We’ve heard rumors about this.

When Casey (Britt Robertson) learns about Tomorrowland, of course, she’s curious. The trailer shows her learning more about it from characters played by Keegan-Michael Key and Kathryn Hahn. They work in a comic book store, or something to that effect, complete with Han Solo in Carbonite on the wall.

Key and Hahn’s characters explain that Tomorrowland, the theme park, is “a cover for the real thing.” They then ask, “What would happen if all the geniuses decided to actually change the world?” Photos are shows of Albert Einstein and Thomas Edison over Tomorrowland. Then it’s added that “Walt was one of them.”

And boom, you have your Tomorrowland movie Disneyland connection. Tomorrowland in the movie is a real place, created by the world’s geniuses, and Walt Disney created a theme park to cover the fact they actually did that. It’s A Small World is a portal between the two.

What do you think?

I think that's pretty cool.

Sounds like one of the early rumours. I'm perfectly fine with that as long as it's a fun ride.

Was keeping an open mind about this film, but after seeing Japanese trailer, kind of soured on the plot. Seems to ham fisted in.

I thing that like most of Abrams films, MI:I III feels like a glorified television pilot, loud, noisy, and busy. DePalma and Bird and even Woo are so sleek and clean and cinematic. Abrams' constant cutting and reliance on heavy rat-a-tat-tat dialogue and twisting plot beats just feels too much like TV to me. His most cinematic film is Super 8, and that's because he's constantly borrowing tricks from Spielberg. How Robert Towns, Braga and Moore, and John Woo managed to make a movie as boring as M: I II, I'll never know.

The only thing I don't like about that trailer is "you're the chosen one". I hate that cliché

Thanks for breaking the stereotype.

Now that I think about it... I'm not sure where and when I like this "you're the chose one" or whatever destiny bs.

I may like films that have that but I hate that cliche.

I'm not sure how the chosen one is a white person thing. Seems common in just about most culture's stories.

Yeah, plenty of non-white cultures use that trope. Heck, most martial arts fantasy stories employ a chosen one trope.
